Hi fellow headfiers I just got these gems and through Aune T1 DAC to Canor TP10 tube amp connected with KLEI gZERO3 RCAs these takes me to whole another world. I am in heaven. Just one thing is worrying me that if there are replacement pads for these amazing headphones are available? Midrange sounded thin through my phone but through my set up they are sounding simply yummy.
Can anyone please let me know regarding pads.
Thanks :)

  Wow, $120 for a pair...

That's so crazy from encompass, what a rip off. Sony doesn't stock them in US afaik and encompass has always shown zero stock. When I got my backup set from Japan after exchange it was $22 each.

  My Husband told me he tried them at Saturn (German equivalent of US & Mexico best Buy) and he told me he liked them for classical music, found them to sound very neutral nothing emphasized(i took as a grain of salt as his ears are not mine , i must try them this december when i go to germany), so i am baffled because here some say it's dark and my Hubby says they're neutral sounding mmm

Neutral = HD800S

the Sony's to my ears sound a bit rolled of in the treble and have a strong mid bass presence with some noticeable sub bass. The mids sound forward and the angled drivers present the sound in a very speaker like way. Great imaging and good soundstage imo. I would not call them neutral but they don't jump at you the same way as a non-neutral can does because of the roll off in the treble. They may come off as neutral but to me, they don't sound like it, which is a good thing for me.they are relaxing so that may be why they come off as neutral, not harsh in anyway with a warm, inviting mid bass and forward mids.

  guys how does upgrading cable change the sound of Z7?

Firstly, what do you think is lacking in SQ? Do you need better low end or highs?

  I think the highs are just fine but I do think the bass is a bit bloated. I want a tighter, punchier bass.

In our opinion, copper will suit you best.

i'm actually surprised that psp is able to drive z7! i hav tried copper and silver on z7 from sony stores itself, but i still prefer their stock wires instead. is there any other wire that i should try out? (i feel z7 bass still too light)
