I might have asked already but could someone who have z1r and z7m2 could compare both who does better sound isolation?

What I need is best outside noise isolation, visually z7m2 seems to isolate more. Anyone can share some feedback please

Here is my optimized audio chain for my Z1R headphones:

MacBook Pro ->
Cardas Clear Serial Buss : usb cable ->
Chord Hugo TT : dac/headphone amp ->
Cardas Clear Headphone Cable ->
Sony MDR-Z1R -> headphones

Vibration Control : Symposium - Svelt shelf with RollerBlocks (double-stacked)

It all adds up nicely.

Why do you need vibration control for a headphone system?

As a follow up on the Lavricables Grand, while i love the way it sounds, it is pretty microphonic. It is flexibile, but has a tendency to coil a certain way,if you line it up before listening it's smooth sailing,if not, it's a bit annoying when moving around.

How do you find mdr-z1r vs ier-z1r? I hear people like the ier much more

If I had to choose just one it would be IER but I don’t want to chose just one as I like both. Different presentation and different use cases

As @nc8000 said I love both, use them equally, just different presentation. Use MDR-Z1R when environment is super quiet, as long there us some noise I switch to IER-Z1R and if the noise is too loud then use M7 for passive noise "cancel"

I just started using the crossfeed setting on Dave and even though it felt weird initially, i can't seem to find any downsides to it and loving it more and more. Anyone else using CF with the Z1R?

Crossfeed on Chord's stuff is implemented extremely well. For headphones, it's a no brainer :)

I used to use CF when I had the Dr. Xin amps years ago and do like CF but not that many amps or daps have it
