I want to install Bright_external_tuning and SIG is already set to 2. But I am able to install only Neutral_&_Warm_external_tuning, what change I need to do for Bright_external_tuning install.

I find this value in settings.txt file.

SIG=2

What does the boot log file tell you happened when you rebooted the player ?

And what does it show in Unit info on the dap ?

You always need to reboot after changing anything in the settings file

What is the best configuration for « clinical » sound on 1A ?
I already own a cable which add warmth, mids, lower mids, bass, subs…
I want a true reference/clinical configuration file, or alternative FW than One.
And which do not sound artificial…

There are no alternative FW than Walkman One.

What do you mean by clinical? If you are looking for the most detailed sound that is achievable by settings and tuning in WM One FW.

EDIT : ok, I found what I was searching.

Try CN (China) region. It’s very clinical, probably somewhere your back alley. Although it can be a bit lacking in dynamic for my taste

CN, big boost at 8K, can be shouty for western tastes.

E is a solid choice (very dynamic, with a touch of reverb) as is MX3 but can get wearing with some headgear. U is good for critical listening again can be tiring. What I like about E is that it's so dynamic & never tires, also great for those that are into vinyl rips & live music.

Where is the legend/definition for each of these ratings? Is it like Best +, Good, Great, Etched? RV? I assume the warmer colors are “more bad” and the deeper green colors are “more good,” but it could also be more amplitude/emphasis on the “hotter” colors?

I got an error when I try to apply it, it do not detect Mass USB Storage on 1A, and ask me to connect the unit (of course mass usb storage is activated).
So I try Neutral meanwhile, and regions right now.

After downloading the fw. it's on wm1z tuning. You've changed it to Bright. Just restart and install the Bright fw and you're set! Take your time, read the instructions and you'll be fine!

There is no fw called J123, the only one available is WalkmanOne. To install follow the included instructions and the instructions on his web page and each time you change anything in the settings.txt file you need to reboot the player before those changes take effect and before you can install a new tuning
