I don't use my ZX1 with online steraming but so far I've not had any issues with battery life (after someone's suggestion on not logging into G+). Admittedly it's idle most of the time but as you can see the last charge was 4 days ago. I used it quite a bit yesterday & some today out of the 4 days so far.

If I play randomly and shuffle , can last about 22 hours with WAV music file

Hi res or through USB battery drain faster

Hi there,
A few suggestions onsound settings throughout this thread need some clarification. I most definitely would NOT put on dynamic normaliser as it is a digital compressor/limiter to try and keep the volume levels matched between different tracks/albums (ie it is restricting the dynamic range of your music).DSEE is designed to correct phase and high frequency loss from mp3 encoded music - again, not necessary for wav or hi-res. The only way to hear the original recorded sound is of course to turn all this off....however, if you prefer the sound with these features turned on that is fine as it ultimately it is what makes you smile when you listen to your favourite music that is important.

Hi,

if you are in AUSTRALIA and pre-order a SOny NWZZX1 (at $699 aus) you get a free set of SOny MDR10RC headphones apparently.
Can be done at local Sony Centre or online.

oh, and in reference to some discussion earlier in the thread:
CLEARAUDIO+ setting is an adaptive eq (it guesses an eq to apply to each track based on analysis of the track), consequently it can be hit and miss....it is also why it turns off the manual control of the eq section and some other audio tweak options.

To quote Sony :

"ClearAudio+™ mode _ Sony’s sound expertise frees you from the tedious audio equalizer fine-tuning. Simply activate ClearAudio+ mode to automatically optimize the balance of frequencies with one touch."

I find that the Cruzerlite case makes it really hard to push buttons.

That's a really good deal.  The MDR10RC is over $250 alone here in the USA.  It is sad knowing that they have no plan to release the ZX1 here in the USA.

You can order through price-japan you know.

But if it came to the US it would probably be cheaper. Australian price is about $650. Hoping for something similar in the states.

True, I'm sure it will get here sooner or later.  I'm sure that price will drop down to $500 during the holiday sales if it ever get here.

Is it normal to pay another 3.5% on top at PJ when paying by paypal.

Has to be in US dollars and has the 3.5% on top too.

Anyone from the UK get the device from PJ and payed the extra fee?

PJ say its paypal taking the 3.5% and paypal say it should be free of those charges to me.

If it was released in the US it would NEVER sell if it was more than $500

Probably, but the AK brand is having a strong sale figure here in the USA.  Why don't Sony just do the same?  Their ZX-1 is noticeably better than my modified AK100, I don't see why people won't go for it.  To think of it, they will likely take a loss pricing it under $500.00.

£489 in total from price Japan, not really a massive saving from Sony UK £569.
