Put it this way: which component will change the most if you blind test it?
It's between cable and firmware.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :)

The ZX507's battery life is 'bad' because of the ZX300's existence. Without it, it still clears the floor of any other DAP.

If you want to buy endgame stuff, focus on your headphones first. Put it this way: which component will change the most if you blind test it?

Otherwise, if you're in it for creature comforts, a DAP is an excellent way to scratch that itch.
Understood sir! I initially inquired about the zx300 was to see if it could properly drive the ier-z1r without leaving me wanting or feeling something is missing.

I heard a huge difference between the Opus#2 and the ZX-300 and WM-1A
What are those differences that you hear? Is the opus#2 better than the other two? I'm trying to stay away from android if possible.

i got a steal deal on this, the question is if i search for more refine, pure, clarity sound which one you guys will pick : zx300 VS dx160 vs Xduoo x20 vs Sony nwa55. i pair it with the infamous ath m50x + fiio bta, sometimes i pop out my grail (focal). which one will more fit in ??

None, especially if you're using a Fiio Bluetooth adapter. Bluetooth sounds the same regardless of what's sending the signal.

+ Amazing battery life
+ Absolutely no hiss with any IEMs whatsoever
+ Excellent build quality
+ Same sound quality as the ZX507 but much cheaper (due to less features)
- Small screen
- No streaming or WiFi
- Uses WM-PORT rather than USB

No idea what you mean by Bluetooth: if it's Bluetooth, it'll sound the same no matter where it's from.
I would disagree on your 4th point. I feel 507 is an upgrade. 507 is somewhere between 300 & 1A, but rather close to 1A (original FW) in my opinion

And battery life is very good as long as you don't stream. Plus it charges pretty fast so battery is not an issue with ZX507 I think

I've been content with the ZX300 for over two years after owning the Opus#2 (and M11) - the difference in sound wasn't enough for me to miss it especially considering price is 2x. I would say Opus was just slightly better and a bit more airy, certainly not night and day different or I'd have kept it plus I also prefer the battery life of the ZX.
I've read many times on the these boards that many couldn't tell ZX300 from WM1A in a blind test, or would struggle to. Just my 2 cents.

Sure.

Battery life isn't as good as ZX300 no matter what way you spin it. Still very good compared to other DAPs though, which is more a sign that other DAPs really need to step up their game.

Also takes longer to charge than the ZX300.

Sort of easy to tell with power-hungry headphones as the WM1A has more 'juice' to it.

so u suggest me dont use the bta ? yeahh. in the condition when i use my focal which is better ?

Which Focal? Generally the ZX300 isn't good for any inefficient headphones as its power output is weak.

Not a lot more though. I think the official spec says 200 mW vs 250 mW (forgot for what load, maybe 32 Ohm).
