Does anyone have a backup of the MrWalkman firmware with ClearAudio+? I might be in the minority, but I actually prefer that over direct source. It does more to enhance the sound for me rather than practically sounding the same as the original song without EQ.

I personally find ClearAudio+ to be too much of an artificial effect.

Heads up for anybody who wants an official Sony Bluetooth remote. If you don't want to pay the extreme prices the RMT-NWS20 goes for, check out the RMT-NWS10B. It works perfectly fine with the A55 at the very least. (I'm assuming the 10B also works for the ZX300 and WM1A/Z, and I've also seen a twitter post confirming it's use on the WM1AM2.) So if you have one of Sony's sports oriented Walkmans or can find one of their remotes standalone, just know that it's an option.

Hi, I have the nwa35 but I guess this could apply to the 45 & 55 as well. My headphones are Sennheiser HD 595, not sure if they’re 50 or 120 ohms. After a bit of tweaking on the player turning on the DC phase and some eq it sounds good, but then I thought I’d try it though the monitor side of my pioneer cd recorder with the headphones plugged into that. I have to say it sounds fuller like this. Not sure if this because the Sennheisers are better suited to the output of the Pioneer. I’m in Europe by the way & I keep reading about the EU volume cap. The player is loud enough for me but I’m wondering if removing it will give me the fullness that the output of the Pioneer does. In other words does the cap reduce the output voltage of the player.

I would like to be able to connect the NW-A55 via pure digital out to the USB input on the Loxjie. I don't know about the Loxije, but the A55 -> Fiio L27 -> Fiio Q1mk2 combo works just like that.

A few days travel, this time with A55 (with WalkmanOne) and my 13 years old JH13 ciem, a very impressive rig that I thoroughly enjoy

Have also started using A55 with WF-1000XM4 when in train/bus so I have access to a much larger selection of music than on my iPhone and can also use ldac in place of aac. Does sound better but drains the battery on the XM4 more than twice as fast as with aac

Hello. Today I received my A55 Walkman from japan.
I want to try it out but the screen protector for the player still didn't arrived.
I thought to use it without screen protector until it's gonna arrive.
Is it a good idea? Does the screen getting scratched easily?
The player is brand new.
