It does as one ring of the MMCX is positive and the other ring is negative. But if you look it’s so simple a child could do it. You simply turn the adapter to have the small + symbol facing backwards (towards you) then you line-up the 2Pin with the slot facing outwards. That’s it, easy! So do you see the polarity in the photo above for the two pins? That is why I included it.
Well, I always migrate to the smallest form factor, so even though the adapters may look big in my pictures, they are incredibly small. Don’t know how L shape will work-out? You don’t want any additional leverage onto the MMCX!
I have the MUC-M12SB1. On mz XBA-Z5 and i feel it rotates too easy. The L plug is good for DAPs nut mot really for a table top rig like the DMP-Z1. I feel overall the cable is heavy on the IEMs and bulky, but on the oyher hand it does not tangle up
Yes, you can buy it separate in Japan - but it's not translucent and I highly doubt you can find it anywhere else than in Japan, so you'll need a proxy.
Pretty cheap, 98 US$ https://www.e-earphone.jp/products/detail/1505320/3663/
I kinda figured the IER socket would accept the barrel circumference. Using the adapters helped me understand that the G4 is a tad different than the Penon OSG, where to me the G4 and the Penon Vocal was too bright, though this is likely subjective. Glad it worked out for you!

Interestingly, I just tried a new NiceHCK Blackcat (oil soaked copper wire) whose mmcx fit the Z1R and the sound is very good, wide stage and pounding bass. This was a really cheap cable, but I have found NiceHCK to have great quality.
