How is the isolation of these? pretty good for train travel?

Pretty good with normal volume, but with DD isolation is still not as good as BA IEMs, but its a lot better than ex1k

got to try the Z1R with Z1 today, it somewhat fix the unnatural female vocal issue and the treble also sounded less sharp. too bad Z1 is not really a portable option.

I plug my IEMs into a Hugo TT2 since I listen at home most of the time and it's got the iem output

The only IEMs I currently have are a A12t and a Z5, but they both do sound way better than using my phone. I don't own a DAP and probably won't get one as I really don't need one. I like good iems at home because I have a bad neck and I need to use lightweight headphones or IEMs with my desktop setup. I wouldn't mind getting a DAP, but I probably wouldn't spend that much on one as I listen to most of my music while at the computer.

Yes, and it sounds pretty good with the Z1.

The one impression on baidu teiba with the z1? I have heard his u12t and demo both VX and z1r, I would say its VX > z1r > u12t

Really it depends on what you value more, he values tuning over technical ability and favors bass more, but I think resolution is more important. Its still a good comparison tho.
