I'd much rather have a lossy source so I can at least get an idea what something sounds like as opposed to nothing at all. If I like what I hear enough in the Youtube video then I can seek out a higher quality version to purchase or stream.

This song nearly brought me to tears the first time I heard it on my Elears.

Although I get what your saying in regards to lossy sources not being "the best quality period" I would contend that this thread is about the subjective "feeling" of the music not just the objective source quality. Besides, it's nice for people to put a link to what the like in any form so that some can check it out and decide if that what to pursue more of it. If you find a way to upload lossless files directly to Head-fi for us to check out that would be cool though.
