These look awesome. I hope they cost a crapton of money so I don't give in to my impulses.

I'm more excited about the Shures coz this is unprecendented flagship for Shure, uncharted territory. The HD700 on the other hand is not a flagship, more of a gap filler between the HD650 & HD800.

We'll just have to wait for the FR graphs. Far too many times there have been raving reviews right out of the gate only to be disavowed after the graphs show up obvious problems. On the other hand, one would think that the headphone manufacturers would be "competing" for a "new" sound, rather than just keeping up with the jonses and treading water. I'd really like to see the high-frequency spike problems looked after. Sennheiser had licked the problem with the HD600 then lost the plot.

Oooo, perrrrty, excited to give these a shot - they look very comfortable and durable.

For those that didn't watch the video - here's the frequency curve they showed.  From what the presenter seemed to say, they're probably going to be very close to the 940 sound signature.

Open back DT1350?!

The SRH1840 has been around for THAT long

? Shure certainly did a good job on keeping it a secret.

Parall3l, I've edited my original post to say "this past spring," as it may have otherwise indicated I meant spring last year. It was spring of this year.

But, yes, they did a good job keeping it quiet.

BTW guys will a lot of sound bleed to the surrounding area since its an open back headphone?

It will likely "leak" some sound out and won't isolate you from outside sounds as much as the 440/840/940, yes.

By the way, doesn't this leave the door open for the flagship SRH1940 still?

Just going by the numbers...

Anyone have any idea when they'll be available in the US?

Looks like it might be time to sell some stuff off to justify a purchase...
