There is one : Tera player and is hand Made in Germany .
For a cool 6720 Euro. Combined with the KSE1500, that's gonna make it just over $10k for such a setup.

At that price, it's gotta be good!  Kidding.  I don't think I would touch the Tera with a 10 foot pole.

10 pieces hit the Hong Kong market a few days ago, supposedly the last until February. On first use the heavy cable led to excessive mechanical noise, which was fixed by bending the cable to rest against the head and by using the largest Comply foam tips that I could find. For the source, an AK240 line out (10dB reduction on the Shure input, no EQ on either device) seemed preferable to a computer using the Shure DAC.

After a few hours of listening, SQ is as remarkable as noted by Jude and AnakChan. This is the first IEM that I have not needed to EQ to sound neutral, and might be an end-game portable rig for me at least for a few years. More impressions to come after extended listening.

So far everyone is in agreement that the Layla's have been surpassed. That's a good sign.

Musicday:

Cost in HK was equivalent to US$3K.

> does it sound as good as full size headphones?  How is the soundstage?
The KSE1500 is by a wide margin the best IEM that I have tried and the soundstage is well defined.  They do not sound quite like full size headphones and I still prefer the overall sound of my home setup (HD800/HDVD800/balanced).  However, that setup requires minimal ambient noise while the isolation provided by the KSE1500 means noise is not a concern.

One issue: playback on battery is fine but I get 60-cycle hum when charging via USB, even with the factory charger and cable. I will pick up a ferrite core USB cable to see if this resolves the issue.  Is anyone else having this problem?

No one will be able to answer that question better than you. You already own the AK100ii. If you choose to buy the KSE1500, you can connect it as a transport or DAC. You'll hear it and decide for yourself.

What should be the easiest way to get those in Europe? They seems to be in stock on earphonesolutions.com for $2,999, but then there are taxes on top when shipped to EU. Any ideas? :)
Would love to compare them to Layla / UERR and others ..

The only thing Shure is missing to turn it into a DAP is a memory card reader and a decent sized touchscreen and a a proper kernal plus the music player app software.  In end user cost this is really almost no additional cost meaning they could offer a DAP vs what they have today for only a little more.  I think v2 might be the same price but with DAP instead of DAC/amp.
