Is that the buy it now price or are the bids up to that? Why would that headphone be so expensive?

It's a BIN price.
Yup, it's a collectible vintage Sony, but the prices for these have been stacking up by double every few months. 
I saw one sell for about 130 euros after a mini-bidding war? something stupid like that about half a year ago...

Then the BIN prices appeared, about 200, then 600, and now this. 

My guess is none of them actually sell, but there's plenty of hopeful people thinking they have treasure in the attic.

As you can see, two of these are from the same dude... I'm not sure what he's thinking, maybe something like "must pay student debts" or something like that.
