New to me .... Musician Taurus R2R DAC .... after several hours of CD replay for system 'orientation':B5E98B71-95AE-4235-B3DC-8C2AFF79E67E.jpeg.... fabulously natural, thrilling dynamics, sound 'blossoms' to occupy space in realistic fashion .... 😘
Taurus, eh? I need to look into that one.

Assuming it has fuses inside like the Pegasus, do yourself a favor and replace the cheap glass fuses with something premium. Even $5 ceramic fuses will bring a huge improvement.

That DAC really interests me, but it's far too big to fit into either system here...

I really like this tune and another called "The Kind of Love We Make" from the Growin Up album :L3000:

Finally got my Deanfrips system - Artemis headphone Amp, Pontus II 12th-1, and in another area Iris 12th. I think we all know the headphones :L3000:

I have the Iris going to the Teac via coaxial cable and to the Pontus via I2S connection (HDMI). Pontus to Artemis via XLR. Rotel to Pontus via coaxial. I just use the Teac to feed my Audioengine Active A5+ active speakers when playing media files from PC and not wanting headphones.

Things are still burning in as I just got the system Monday.

Funny you would post this, I have been studying that system recently. That system is one with the center channel and a right and left.

“Most productions from the 1950s to quite a bit into the 60s were recorded in 3-track, as engineers and developers were hoping for a commercially viable 3-track system for best possible stereo reproduction.

People discussing what to listen to next.”

i think the center channel was also for mono recordings, pretty nice system for the 60's

1. Amplification:

Console furniture with built-in components was quite common back in the day, so we can’t say what brand they are.

But we think that the three amplifier units down below might be Scott amps.

2. Preamplifier:

McIntosh C-22 (pictured on top)

3. AM/FM Tuner:

Fisher R-200 tube tuner

4. Loudspeakers:

Either Altec-Lansing or JBL (James B. Lansing), but they look like they could also be other hi-fi classic models of the day by Klipsch, Jensen, or Tannoy.

5. Turntable:

Garrard or Reko-Cut in one photo; the other photo has the turntable inside the cabinet under the Fisher tuner.

6. Reel-to-Reel Tape Deck:

Correction: Not a 350 series Ampex 3-track tube tape machine; rather, it is a Presto 825 3 box/3 channel deck.

There are some other professional-looking components Sinatra had that we weren’t able to identify, but are surely curious about.

I had a Fisher R-200 at one point, also an HH Scott that had a center channel.
