Thanks JM57 & permit me to return the compliment. Nice set up on your part also. I find that Bryston not only makes quality audio items but they’re aesthetically appealing also. It’s always pleasant when you hit on a great sounding system.nice setup, this is the best i have heard, love my bryston gear

Gotta ask… why no Ultimate pics? You recover from New Toy Syndrome already?

… soon … I have a number of 6Y6 tube variants whose bases I am re-epoxying / tightening …Gotta ask… why no Ultimate pics? You recover from New Toy Syndrome already?

Do you only play CDs or do you stream as well?

I've seen Larry live. His son Travis is a monster electric bassist, too.

Very cool. Must have been quite enjoyable. I saw him in 2009 at the old Chicago Theatre w/ Steely Dan. One of the best gigs/ concert I’ve ever been at. What made it special was being with my son.I've seen Larry live. His son Travis is a monster electric bassist, too.
This will be my first time (re)gluing the space around the tube base and the lower tube glass. I intend to apply the glue (Aileens Tacky) sparingly - with an exacto knife blade to let the glue trickle down, settle, spread. If need be, I will repeat. One goal is to minimise clean-up needed. Certainly, the tube glass will be cleaned - being careful around silkscreen / painted dates, logos, names, etc. I assume that the tube glass - with a meticulous cleaning - will not be more susceptible to breakage.Sorry for the system pictures detour, but have you ever had any issues with subsequent glass cracking after re-gluing a tube base on an older tube?
I was going to purchase an expensive 1940's tube with a loose base, with a plan to just glue it, but then I came across this article. Not a big deal if the tube is cheap, but if it costs $$ then something to consider:
