Cayin HA-6a, Ferrum Erco + Hypsos, LCD-5, HE1000se. Will probably sell the Hifiman for a Focal, either Utopia or Stellia... But this is the setup! Both the Ferrum and Cayin have unique and incredible sounds!

I loved the Stellia! I regret selling it. I'd love to try them again on this too.

For reference, my favourite setup on the HA-6a, after rolling:
- (Stock) KT88 Gold Lion power tubes
- Philips ECC82 input tubes
- RCA 22DE4 (NOS) rectifier tubes. Not the stock RCA ones. These NOS are different, comes in a red box.

This is a perfect balance of punch, detail/technicalities, and tube warmth for me. Next to my Ferrum stack, I prefer the Cayin. The tube gains outweigh the losses from Solid state.

Trying a Lampizator Level5 Gen4 and better than all the DACs I had before. Size and weight is clearly old school. Good synergy with DCA Stealth…more body and warmth without losing resolution etc.241323EA-9153-481E-8359-343B2A67C9C1.jpeg

Level 5 Gen 4 = 20x better? 🤣

This in 100%. It's shocking how well both these cans scale with amps and it's no wonder they're still very popular here on HF.

But some combos are still better than others. For example, with the RME ADI DAC 2, it sounds ok, but with the iFi Zen Signature stack at half the price (which is of course specially made for it) it really starts off.

Without hp', TT and phono preamp (I forgot to remove my plastic bed which I use as accoustic absorber for my speakers).

The 660S are here to stay!

Yup, we have a pair of very old HD600 at our office (and had HD580 before them) and these cans will remain there forever :)
