If you adore dynamics, then you should try out some AMT ribbon headphones, as it's a hallmark of the drivers. Planars come across as being laid back in comparison. This is my first Abyss, so no frame of reference unfortunately. It’s very dynamic for a planar. Linear presentation with great extension, top to bottom with just the right amount of bass. It’s incredibly resolving (without sounding clinical). You can really get lost in the music. Oh and they are comfortable as hell (something I understand previous Diana’s struggled with).
The @skedra cable is a perfect match (both sonically and aesthetically) as well

HEDDPhone 2 is on my list, but honestly Diana DZ ticks all the boxes for me with my current setup. I’m preferring it to my Caldera and I haven’t really started rolling tubes with it yetIf you adore dynamics, then you should try out some AMT ribbon headphones, as it's a hallmark of the drivers. i tried the original Diana and after 5 minutes took them off b/c so uncomfortable. sound was fanatastic. might have to try out these new Diana's see how they are. the headband looks much better then the original. I am completely enamored. Diana DZ is a perfect match with my Agartha 2021 (using the bass ported pads).
I may end up liking them better than my Caldera (but you areright, they are different enough to keep both)
