Very different sound tuning. Whatever you might think or measurements shows, there are differences between AKM and ESS.

As per your comment above I am still not sure about M6, M6(21), M6 pro and M3X.

Can you briefly tell us the sound tuning, which one will be more monitoring or fun ??

Original M6 is thicker, warmer, M6 21 is more towards neutral.

It's been interesting to read this thread and am excited to Learn M6 21 will have higher power output. @Shanling can you comment on battery capacity and expected playback times of the M6 21? I have really been trying to decide between the M3X which has high battery life but lower output power and the Lotoo PAW 6000. The only thing that held me off the M6 Pro was battery life. Could an M6 21 be in my not so distant future? Id love to get some further specs.

Is there an android upgrade on the horizon? I like the M6 but it cannot connect to wifi with sign-in requested, I don't know why but the sign-in page never shows up for me and it's a big no-no. I can't use it at work or in a hotel. Any help with that?

Last firmware update for M6 was released two weeks ago(make sure you are running latest V3.5). For upgrade to higher version, can't promise anything.

Maybe try to install different web browser, try to put in normal Chrome and see if that will open the log in page.

OK will try. Clearly not working with VIA browser. Player is up to date

It can work with google chrome. You can try typing in the ip address if still can't

Hello Team,

I have just received yesterday my new Shanling M6 international version. (In January I had to send you back my M2X via BrightAudio Store because of software issues with Tidal that I posted on the M2X thread. But I wanted to give a try with another DAP with more high standing....,)

Again another software+hardware issue after my first day of use.Can you explain me why I can not launch YouTube & Netflix. Firmware Isis up to date.

PS1: the screen's glue is not really well plugged as you can see...

PS2: fortunately I am able to play some music on my DAP with Tidal....


For 450 USD from my pocket, I am quite disappointed and really not satisfied of the item. Can you contact me ?
