Hello Team,

I have just received yesterday my new Shanling M6 international version. (In January I had to send you back my M2X via BrightAudio Store because of software issues with Tidal that I posted on the M2X thread. But I wanted to give a try with another DAP with more high standing....,)

Again another software+hardware issue after my first day of use.Can you explain me why I can not launch YouTube & Netflix. Firmware Isis up to date.

PS1: the screen's glue is not really well plugged as you can see...

PS2: fortunately I am able to play some music on my DAP with Tidal....


For 450 USD from my pocket, I am quite disappointed and really not satisfied of the item. Can you contact me ?

I would say the netflix issue is probably software compatible issue, maybe they didn't support android 7 device & for youtube, you can just download the needed app. It was said you needed google play service.

It's not Shanling's fault at this point...

Youtube app is running fine on our M6. From your screenshot, it seems you are running some old version of Youtube. You can easy tell by the missing create/upload icon at the bottom.


Netflix have special version of their app for Android 7. If you click on the "Learn How" button in the app, it will take you directly to their help page with download link.

I'm sorry to see little bit of leaked glue. Luckily this is something you should be able to clean out easily from surface.

im planning to buy m6 and i have 1 question about system stability. Does it crash often ? is there something i should worry ? etc

I use it on long road trip and never have problems with the shanling app. If I am using it connected using Amazon music, sometimes the app closes by itself at random. I think it is more an Amazon music app issue but I thought I would mention it. Otherwise solid player, only wish we would get a more recent Android version in 64 bits...

Newer players are 64bit. Same will be for M6 version 21.

And what about us M6 owners of the OG version? The Hiby R6 is almost 5 years old and it has android 8.1, 64 bits... Come on Shanling, you can do better!

hello Shanling... it has been a year with my M6, very happy overall, it drives my FH7 beautifully. unfortunately recently the NEXT bottom is becoming very soft and soon will stop working, I`m sure. I use this bottom to advance trough my playlist a lot, but I do not use my M6 very much either, some 2 hrs. a week.

I wonder if Shanling could add the feature to re-map the "Advance/Next" function to the other bottom, or the double screen tap, when next firmware update.

I believe my M6 has many years of use, I would not like to scrap my unit when this bottom becomes dead.

any thoughts Shanling?

We have no plans to add function to be re-mapping buttons.
If you are facing any issue with the bottom and your M6 is still under warranty, I would recommend to contact your seller to get it fixed.

1. According to our engineers, it's not possible to update M6 to 64bit without recalling them to factory. That's info they provided.
2. Retroactive MQA certification for device that's on market for so long is very complicated. Unfortunately we can't discuss this in more detail.

Hi, I would like to go higher from my M5s and thinking about original AKM M6. There are last pieces of it on our market with nice price. How is the sound differs? Can it be an excusable upgrade, soundwise? In particular I would like to have bigger soundstage and not so rolled off high-treble. Maybe also some warm to the mids Thank you very much.
