Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

Quick question for the group: is there a technician / company you could recommend one could reach out to to have them custom-make a mic cable for IE900 or would that be a bridge too far?

Someone asked the same question in Reddit and got a pointer to https://www.null-audio.com/ I didn't see any cables with inline microphones for wired connections, but they have a cable that takes a boom-mic (!). Might be worth contacting them and see if they can make a cable with an inline mic if the boom mic option is too much.

I did a search, but seems little to no comparison between Final A8000 and ie900. I’d think there’s some similarities between them? So I am curious to hear if anyone has had both? I have a couple of cheaper IEMs, but the better are U12t, Sure 846. So one fairly natural, one bass… I want something that’s very wide and stage like, why I am consider one of these two. I have 2 others in mind too, but since I’ve not made my mind up yet, leaving it out for now.

Are there any thoughts on buying a refurbished unit from Sennheiser direct vs brand new? The refurbished units have a good discount (200 pounds) on the UK store, currently cheapest price from a retailer, and of course the return period, something which virtually no retailer will honour in the UK if the earphones are actually used.

@ericpalonen could you please tell us whether refurbished units have brand new accessories (particularly new eartips) and did anyone else buy refurb IE900 and have any cosmetic imperfections on them?

Thanks!

All eartips are replaced and all original accessories should be included unless otherwise noted.

Everyone is different but to me it looks a little heavy. I like to forget I'm using an IEM, even the stock cable is a little unwieldy to me I would go for a super lightweight item.
New cables are coming from the mothership soon

Any details you can share? How are they expected to be different from the stock cables?
Braided, ultralight cables. Check out the IE 200 Headgear page as it will be that cable. We'll update the 900 and 600 pages shortly to reflect that.

The innards materials are the same, just the construction (braided) is different?

Like the ie200 - there was a comment somewhere that those cables will be available later this spring for purchase

(I see it’s answered now so never mind)
