Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

Settle on one and don't swap. The 07s haven't left the IE 900 for months now.

As above, AET 07, 08 or SD were all more comfortable and better sounding than stock for me. Final E are comfortable and attenuate treble, but mess up the mids on almost any IEM I've used them with, including IE 900. Might work for you though. Tips are relatively cheap and easy to try on for size, fit and sound. Well worth the time and money to get it right - too many have given up on the IE 900 too soon by losing patience.
Same sentiments when I first got the MEST II... until I got them remoulded to CIEMs and escape the never ending tip rolling...

For some reason, here I am, back at it with the IE900 >..< But, I have no regrets. the IE900s are tip dependant, but NOT as dependant as the MEST II were. Waiting for 07s to come in, meanwhile, with the Final E which are the most comfortable with the best seal that I have so far. The Xelastec seals well, but I never liked the sticky feeling when removing them, and knowing I can never clean them fully...

New to this thread...so while I'm searching through 214 pages, can anyone say what the diameter of the nozzle is on the IE 900 for the purpose of after-market tips? All I can find in the download manuals is the transducer is 7mm.
Not sure myself but I find eartips such as the Spiral Dot++ is slightly loose on the IE900 and they are 4mm. I generally don’t buy eartips bigger than 4mm.

Sorry, I don't have any calipers to reliably measure, but all I can say is that Acoustune AET07 fit nicely, and those tips will even slide onto the nozzles of the Thieaudio Monarch MKII, and those are some thicc-boy nozzles, hahahaha. The narrowest stemmed tips I've tried are probably either the Final Audio Type E &/or the Spinfit CP100+, and both fit nicely as well. Seems the IE 900 nozzles can accomodate a relatively broad range of tips, IME at least.

Thanks for your edit Imf22. I've never had IEMs before, and had to pass on a pair of cheap earbuds because I couldn't get the buggers to stay in (very narrow canals apparently). My Stellia headphones are a bit bulky for some applications, so it looks like a pair of IE 900 coming my way – as long as I can get them to stay in.

Whilst you have your lovely Mitutoyo vernier there, could I also trouble you for the length of the nozzle please (no need for a pic - just the number)? It seems that it's longer than usual and can create tip problems.

I’ve owned all the Sennheiser in ear flagships and rate em as such:

IE800 - 8.2/10
IE800S - 8/10
IE900 - 9.4/10

It’s quite an upgrade really!

Woah, okay thanks for that. I'll definitely look to purchase these once they are back in stock here. :relaxed:

So after 3 reworks my IEM Sleeves finally seem to work but i really need to say they suck in terms of sound quality. No comparison to Spiral Dots for me. They just sound plain cheap. I just gonna use them for walks i think because they isolate quite good but nothing else.

The best tips tried for IE900? Thanks
If you read this thread you can find most find AET07 to be the best eartip for IE900. However if you find it too peaky, you can use the Spiral Dot or narrow bore tips such as Final E or Sony Hybrids. I find Sony Hybrids really good with the IE900. Experiment yourself and find the best for your taste.

Apologies if this has been covered above, I did a search and couldn't find a complete answer, only individual suggestions. Is there a list anywhere of aftermarket/upgrade cables that definitely fit the ie900? None of my 4.4 or 3.5 cables (Westone/Andromeda/Fiio) fit the 900's rather odd MMCX connection. Thanks.
