Sennheiser HD800 Certificate for Frequency Response Arrived

Here's mine, havn't had any problems with the bass and love the sound. Guess mine are pretty coloured compaired to the earlier models.

My graph looks a lot like yours and is in the 9000s (one of the newest) they are flatter but I have a sharper spike at 6 kz. Almost a 5 dB spike actually. Will post later. Mine has the 5dB boost at the 100hz too -which imo is not a bad thing for these headphones.

I ask all of the above posters, how/where did you get yours? I registered my HD 800 phones @ Sennheiser, but I found no way to request my certificate.

Thanks! The only thing I could see during registration was a check box that said "request more info", so I checked it.

I'm sorry if this was discussed before, but: Why there is only one single line in the graph?
After so much time Sennehiser says needs to produce the results, why they dont give us L & R channel response?
I measured my friends HD800 and the differences are up to 3dB in certain frequency regions.
 
Nothing terrible, but not identical either.
 
Still, what these graphs show is just 1 channel, or average of the two?
 
Don't understand this at all...

To my ears, with a nice setup, I found the HD800's to have strong bass, beautiful sweet mid range and I did not really hear "the dreaded 6k peak."

The peaks on the first batches at 6.3k were much higher. You seem to have a bigger peak nearer 9k with yours.

I am curious if the frequency fluctuation is engineered into the design (as in: "later vs earlier" versions) or if this is just the result of normal manufacturing variation.

Not saying those peaks are completely unlistenable, but we should take the resolution of the graph into consideration as well, ie (in case I'm not using the correct English term), the space between two scale marks and what it represents.  Lower resolution graphs are evidently more 'faithful'.
 
In other words, the difference between the models is not as 'crazy' as someone noted above.  That's simply a misled perception.  The fact that it's very noticable on the graph has more to do with the accuracy and resolution of the graph rather than what you'll actually hear.
 
By the way, looking on LCD-2 graphs I could see differences of nearly 10dB between models.  Some may perceive it as ruler-flat curve, but that would be just because the resolution of the Y axis is so big, where each scale mark represents 20dB.  Likewise, you basically can make any curve look nearly flat if your resolution is big enough.
