Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Stax SR-009 or the Abyss AB-1266. I'm more interested in trying the latter. The thing with those super high end headphones are, I wouldn't be able to use them... they would seem too fragile and precious to even leave the box. There's another pro for the HD600. Long live the king!

Don't forget about the "Law of Diminishing Returns." Once you go past the HD600,I don't think there will be any miracles except exaggerations in ones imagination.

I often see this headphone compared with the Philips Fidelio X2. Does anyone have experience with both of these headphones? If so, which has the better soundstage in terms of width/spaciousness?

I dont have the hd600 but the hd650 which is similar.I can say that x2
has bigger soundstage, more vivid then
Hd 650. Since hd600 is similar to the hd 650, soundstage of x2 will bigger too.

My headphone adventure so far has found that DT880-600 is also a very enjoyable headphone for a HD600 fan. I had to go back to go forward!

I'm listening to Guns N' Roses for the first time on the HD600... it's difficult to explain but it sounds like the best possible headphone plugged in at that moment, like no change to them could make them better. That is such a rare feat for headphones.

Yet I continue buying more headphones :D

I'm about to do the opposite and pull the trigger on an HD600 to compliment my Alpha Dog and DT880. The Alpha Dog spanks the DT880 in imaging and transients. The DT880 only beats the AD in airiness and soundstage width.

I have grown more sensitive to the lower treble of the DT880 and that is why the HD600 is going to go through some testing soon to see if the DT880 has to go.

I also purchased an AKG K553 for my dad if I test it out and it sounds good to me w/ Alpha Pads.

I can happily say that the HD600 is a perfect complement to the Alpha Dogs. Where the Alphas excel in having that great great bass impact and microdetails the HD600 excels in having this really beautiful tone with a much more open sound. They've been glued to my head since last Friday.

Are you aware that on Head-Fi you get a free HD600 for spelling 'complement' correctly? Needless to say not many have won.
