I listen to everything from indie, alternative to hip-hop music. I was thinking about DT880, or DT990. I was also looking at the DT150. The choice doesn't have to be within the Beyerdynamic family. I plan to pick up a Emotiva DC-1 this week to use as my main rig.

Read this thread when it comes to the DT 150, there isn't much info on the headphone on other threads. I think the DT 880 or DT 990 would also be good compliments. There are plenty of other headphones to look at as well, but I don't know many headphones very well outside AKGs, Beyers, and Senns.

My headphone adventure so far has found that DT880-600 is also a very enjoyable headphone for a HD600 fan. I had to go back to go forward!

I'm listening to Guns N' Roses for the first time on the HD600... it's difficult to explain but it sounds like the best possible headphone plugged in at that moment, like no change to them could make them better. That is such a rare feat for headphones.

Yet I continue buying more headphones :D

Looks like you'll be off to rehab very soon.

Why, which part are you referring to? :D

I'm not on anything that needs rehab :)

Just enjoying wonderful music on wonderful headphones! :)

So you're in denial about your headphone addiction?

Haha! having an headphone addiction is nothing that needs rehab! For some people, it's the best medicine possible man. I thought StanD might be referring something related to listening to Guns N' Roses on the HD600 haha! :D

At least with a headphone addiction, you have something to show for it at the end of the night.

Right now I have several amp options-Little Dot MKIII, Keces HA-171, Beresford Capella & a JDS Labs O2. Any input on any of these with say the HE-400i which I've been eyeing lately.
For DAC's I have a Maverick Audio D-2 & Beresford Bushmaster MKII.
Other equipment see below
                                     V
                                     V

After looking up the Keces HA-171 and Beresford Capella, the Beresford Capella should be able to drive the HE-400i based on its output power, and the O2 will also work.  I haven't heard any of the amps you have so I can't comment on the sound that you will get with the HE-400i, sorry

So what are you buying next? A new DAC? Or is it an Amp? Perhaps another headphone? That headphone might need a different amp if it's low impedance and you got an OTL tube amp for that HD600. It not a question of what, it's when. Probably sooner than later.

StanD, you're saying things but I don't see the negatives in them. I'm enjoying my headphone adventure, it's my only real expenditure and it isn't harming anybody. What is your point?

We must find the next suitable king!

Might as well cut to the chase and grab an Stax SR-009 and the required amp. Ouch

Stax SR-009 or the Abyss AB-1266. I'm more interested in trying the latter. The thing with those super high end headphones are, I wouldn't be able to use them... they would seem too fragile and precious to even leave the box. There's another pro for the HD600. Long live the king!
