cable driver I don't care till sound like
Budget 200eur second hand like new
I have jvc fx850 and I'm happy (the closest iem to amperior but still..)
Sm3v2 no
Shure 846 too expansive to carry around
How on earth do I remove the drivers from the aluminium cups? So frustrating!!
Tutorials make it so easy but I guess that's with the plastic cups with flex when pushed?
Also, what can of screws on the clamp? Has it 8 sides?
This is not a Grado, thankfully. The Amperior is exactly what I expected, a neutral headphone with a little excessive 10k treble peak. I do not hear any excessive bass. Strange thing is by removing the back foam the treble seem more in line with the midrange. Match very well with the Fiio x5. I am tempted to try leather pads. But the sound is nearly perfect. I am planning to use this headphone in very hot day outside and when I train, I don't want to sweat in velour pads. Leather pads will be better for this purpose.
Hey all, first time posting to headfi!
Ive had my Amperiors for years (which I got for free because Apple kept messing up a computer repair!) but I got tired of the blue colour so am getting ready to paint them flat black as I’ve come to love the simple HD25 look. I have YAXI pads on order and will eventually swap the cable.
The regular extension w/o mic controls asking broke... and would like a decent coiled cable extension (as I DJ). Any recommendations?

if you need a remplacement cable with mic+remote, Newfantasia/Neomusica makes one compatible with both for the HD25/Amperior, available on Amazon. I ordered one, blue color, and the package includes the small screwed splitter piece on the outer side or the earcup to be changed with the included torx mini screwdriver.
NewFantasia Replacement Cable for Sennheiser HD25 / HD25-1 / HD25-1 / II HD25-13 / HD25-C Headphone, Remote Volume Control
It will work well with your Amperior, since they provide the included screwed splitter piece to be replaced with included tool to fit the new cable.
Also Japanese manufacturer Oyaide also makes great aftermarket HD25 cables, compatible with the Amperior.
if you need a coiled cable, just buy the genuine Sennheiser HD25 coiled cable, available at Sennheiser.com or on Amazon or eBay or your local reseller.
You could also just buy a standard coiled extension cable to connect to your basic genuine HD25 steel Cable or Amperior cable or Newfantasia cable.
