Why is that? Are/they that much better than the amps? (I think the amps are great)

yes it scales better with an better amp/dac due to the higher damping factor.
Either way compared to the standard plastic capsules, the capsules of the alu and amp improves the low end significantly at the cost of being less comfortable on the head due to the extra weight.

The hd25 aluminium already exists and yes it's an improvement over the amperior.

Could you desctibe the improvements?

Thanks!

Can anyone help me? What's the cheapest screwdriver set I can buy to use to replace the clamp set on the Amperiors?

You need a Torx T6 screwdriver.
  I personally have these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LQEUJ0
But shop around Amazon or other hardware store.

Thanks! I found a similar set on B&H along with the coiled HD25 cable.

Hi,
i was wondering...i want to replace my Amperior's cable.
the stock cable i have has a "built-in" cable-clamp on it with screws to attach the cable to the headphones' frame.
all of the cables i see for sale doesnt have that clamp attached, so how am i suposed to fit them?
i cannot remove the clamp from the stock cable.
Thanks

Yes.

Alternatively,if you're fine with a dual-entry setup, you can just buy an HD600/650 cable (same connectors, symmetrical cable).
Just rotate the cups so the connectors face down.
No clamp required, but the right side is exposed (I don't think you can buy the cover like the one on the left side).

i'm sorry i didnt understand what exactly is "exposed" with this setup?
anyway, i don't like symmetrical-cable-down idea, ill get a clamp+cable :))
thanks so much for the quick reply!
i was searching everywhere with no answer...where did i miss? :p
i don't even see the Amperiors being mentioned anywhere,
other than Tyll Hertsens' Innerfidelity where i learned about them :)
thanks a lot :)
