Why not just get AT-HDC5? they are in your budget.

Ah, I forgot to share that I don't like the memory wire with the stock cable. So, the same reason for not taking AT-HDC5.

I have been looking around lunashops but nothing impresses me. So, thought of asking for other options.

Well if you are OK with memory wire, I think AT-HDC5 is worth buying, it reveal more detail soundstage more wider image are bigger bass have better impact and vocal are more clearer, satisfied buyer.

This i can further clarify as I have A-B ed them extensively at a Yodobashi Akiba.
In the bass department, The CKR9 bass QUALITY is much better than that of the IM70 , The CKR9's bass is tighter, cleaner , faster ,deeper and has crunch and texture to it whereas the IM70 has higher quantities but it is also loose-er and does not have that crunch and texture.
The CKR-9s win hands down in the treble department.

Edit: The CKR-9s rumbles better too:D .

In the treble department I would say the CKR9 sounds almost like the IM02 but it has more weight and power behind the sound causing the Im02 to sound anemic but micro-details are more prominent on the IM02 due to its leaner sound. Bass wise the IM02 loses in both quantity and quality. The Im02 places more emphasis on the midbass (but still less bass than the CKR-9s) whereas the CKR-9s focuses on Subbass and midbass equally.
how about comparing it with CKS1100is and E-40 that has similar driver design? The E-40 especially seems to be a perfect upgrade from IM50 and IM70

My father asked me to help him find a good set of IEMs for around $100. After a few probing questions about the sort of sound and design he liked and didn't like, I told him about the IM70. I had not head it, myself, but from all the research, mainly in this thread, I believed it the right choice for him.

Man, those things sound amazing for the price. I'll have to borrow them sometime.

If he can plug his fist into one of his ears, the IM70 would be suited for him.

The IM70 may look small from internet but it'll protrudes far from one's ears due to long nozzle + thick housing.

lol. The first thing I said when I put them in, was, "Wow. These things are small."

I'm used to the IM03, which is a good bit larger, and the JHA Angie, which is ENORMOUS.
