601 won't play 24/192., it will play 24/44 and maybe 24/48 but no higher

It will play 24/96, but it down samples the 24/96 to 24/48

Okay that makes sense. Time to convert to convert to a lower sample rate. Thanks for the help.

well I read good things so far about the Hm601 and I am a looking for a musical warm dap, so me too I have the fiio x3, and was really wondering if buying any hifiman 601,602,603, or even 801 is an upgrade and a noticeable one or not.

I heard that there is gonna be a new dap by hifiman called HM 650, so I will wait a little before I buy anything

BUT Fiio in a way or another is the only DAP I have and I want a more rich, deep, warm sounding DAP any other suggestion

From what I read is that the HM601 uses the Philips DAC and this is why its warm and musical?

I'm open to rockbox if it's stable.

I am using rockbox for more than a year. Much much better than the stock. Perfectly stable. Just make sure your SD card is of good quality and doesnt have bad sectors.

If you can get one, get a 801 - beautiful sound and not bright at all.

KT66, have you ever had a change to listen HM602? Does it have a similar sound to HM601 as the reviews say? Thanks.

I own the hm801 now and had the hm601 before it, and yes the two share a simmilar sound imo with the hm801 being noticeably improved

I was initially considering the 601/602 route with the good help from Mshenay, KT66 and alpha421 and some others whom I forgot to mention but found a good deal with the Studio V 3ANV. It's more portable and had very positive reviews over here at Head-fi. It's still on its way though. I just hope I was not wrong with my decision.

hmmm good deal, I posted an hm601 for like $100 with an SD card, unless you got ur Studio V 3ANV for less than $100 I'd say you missed out ;3

still I hear the Studio V 3ANV has a warm sig to it as well, so do enjoy it!

hahaha. I had to say it's a good deal based on the $450 original price off the HSA site. Really? you consider the Studio on the warm side? most impressions say it's neutral to high - like beware pairing it with brighter cans. anyway, it's coming so I'll hear it for myself.

I still wish I could hear the Hifiman someday.

You could have xD

I've NEVER heard the Studio V, but the fellow I got my hm 601 mentioned he had a Studio V player and prefered the Hifiman hm601 to it [or maybe it was the other way around]... either way enjoy it

Whomever said that the Studio-V has a warm sig has a strange set of ears as I found it the opposite of warm like the Hifimans.  IMO, it's a cold sounding DAP that needs warm transducers to keep it borderline musical, IMO of course.

I proably misquoted the fellow who sold me my hm601, either way enjoy it
