In my experience with modding grados adding some dynamat to the back of the driver magnet does wonders for the impact of the bass.  Has anyone experimented with the in the 003's?

I have a LD MKIV with a Musical Fidelity V-DAC & V-PSU. The FA-003 sound lovely thru this. Sold my E9 to help fund upgrade

Not done exactly what Lorspeaker has but tube amps and the MF V-DAC with power supply does lift the FA-003. Also, the longer these have been burnt it the better they sound.

Excuse me for my tardiness, but are there any measurements of these available? Been reading some, very little, but would be interesting to see some graphs, just for the kick of it.
I figure they're practically impossible to try out in Europe, but where in the states (which shops) would I be able to try them out?

i enjoyed the akg271mk2, ( not exactly your model :0 )
it's neutral to slightly cool..v big n wide sounding...v light on the head..hardy can.
kept it in my car as a waitingcompanion. I love it for classicals.
 
This was replaced by the 003 for my in-car use actually. Also just as light, better isolation.
003 wasnt as wide sounding, but warmer and more intimate. i literally fell asleep listening to the 003...
 sonic shangrila for an hourzzzz.
 
If i were to pick one of the above...errr....003.
but dun mind either if my pocket is overflowing.
