REVIEW: 20 Headphones Compared

Great review David.  I disagree with you on the Denon 950.  I thought the bass is not as clean as could be, infact, a bit muddy sounding.  I take the Shure SE530 over it any time.

It is also nice to see that the R10 still reigns supreme in your system.  I may pull the trigger on the LCD2 one of these days just to see for myself.  Again, thanks for a wonderful review.

Nice post! I would rate t1 before HD800 especially when driven balanced.

Very nice post!
But I don't agree with your opinion on the HD650: I find them lovely with classical music (and classical is 90% of my music collection now), because of their warm signature and organic sound stage.
I honestly don't think their treble is rolled off, maybe grainy, especially compared to the K701/2 I used to own.
And they sound pretty good with old and poor recordings, I can enjoy my whole music library with them.

I agree with you about the K701/2 and their ability to render chamber music, they're wonderful. But they lack dynamics with large orchestra music, they sound a bit dull.

C'mon where is the love for the W5000's! lol... These are my favorite headphone when paired with the HA5000. Easily up there with the D7000, T1 and HD800 IMO. Well either way, very interesting read, great job! cheers,

Nice review. Thanks.. However i do enjoy the K1000 for rock after bringing the drivers closer to my ears.. The fact that soundstage can be altered based on sound preference is one of the key advantages of the K1000..

W5000 - 39, PS-1000 - 24; everyone has his own crazy way.

It's the OP's opinion but that doesn't mean that we're obliged to agree with it. To each his own.

PS I hasten to add that it's an interesting read nonetheless.
