So you think the HD 650s are the best high end Sennheisers for rock? That's interesting.

I might like the LCD-2s according to your description. . .

That's not quite what my percentages mean.  My percentages just mean which genres I listen to with that headphone.  For instance, more of my total percentage of listening is dedicated to rock with the SE530 than the HD800, but I prefer the HD800 regardless.  I hope this makes sense?

What Senns out of the HD 600/650/800 do you prefer for rock then? I mean based on sound signature, not what's best overall.

Just curious.

Great write up Dave!

You certainly knocked it out of the park.

Great writeup!

It's nice to see a like-minded member around here. :) I haven't spent as much time as you with all of them, but I almost entirely agree with our overlap. Though I think I might have a bigger soft spot for the SA5000 than you do. It has mighty transparency and the 2A3 tubes lend something special to it.

And no DT48? For shame. :D I think you'd be bowled over by its mids.

For the headphones you own I would have a similar ranking of them, with the R10 definitely being the top of all dynamics.  I'm getting a little interested in the HE6 but reviews on it seem to be all over the place.

Nicely done. I've been thinking of writing a similar review with all my toys (though I meddle mostly in the low to mid-fi realm).
