My understanding is the opposite - the Xe6 is supposed to be warm and musical, while the 5 is geared towards studio/reference. That's why I went for the Kr5, but I haven't heard the 6 personally
Indeed yes, sorry I was getting my wires crossed. Makes sense….it wasn’t computing that you are loving a warm / musical presentation :p

Out of interest (I may have missed it) did you compare it or get to listen to the XE6?

From the impressions I’ve read thus far, the 6 seems to be the more technically competent and “audiophile” tuned, and the 5 more “musical” tuned (so not quite reference but bolder, bigger, warmer).

Yeah @xenithon I think you have those backwards.

I have the XE6 and it’s very musical, big, and rich with good technical ability to go with it. It’s unlike anything else I’ve heard on the market which is why I enjoy it so much.

Not to mention the bass is straight up 🤤

Many thanks for the feedback!

PS. I've fixed my original post so I don't look like a total tart :xf_cool:

Haha I definitely want to try the Xe6, I am this close to pulling the trigger on one :D I do think the Kr5 is much closer to my "target curve" though, been on a bit of a treble head wave lately. Also contemplating selling the Kr5 to fund it as a CIEM but that would mean having to go through the whole Classifieds torture chamber

Don't you have a return window?

Not without a restocking IIRC, but I might pop Andrew an email to see if it's possible

You'll lose less in restocking than the classifieds wasteland. We should start a petition to get the old classifieds reinstated.
I sent him an email yup. If it’s 5% or whatever I’ll gladly take it honestly. Just need to get my impressions over to FiR now
