If it doesn't work, I would try it again.

What I've also done is plug the QP1R to power while hard resetting.  That seems to wake it up as well.

Also, if you haven't, you can update the firmware to 1.0.5.  If you have issues with it, downgrade to 1.0.2.  I still have the 1.0.2 firmware on Google Drive and the link is posted either in this thread or the QP1R review thread.

Good luck.

Yeah I've done that before as well, and it's been upgraded to last firmware shortly after it was made available... Listened to it for a good chunk of the day yesterday.... Fortunately i have a few ipods that i can listen to while i work today, as this p.o.s. Can be plugged in all day and hopefully work.... Its acting like when i first got it last xmas, charged it for the day, and it took forever too turn on... Funny thing it finally decided to turn on after i sent an hate email.... Lol

Hold down the power button for a while (30 seconds or keep holding until the screen turns black/off should do).  This will hard reset the QP1R and you'll be able to turn the QP1R on without issue.

I tried that but as I said no buttons or controls were working :/ no matter what or how long I pressed it was just stuck there.

Well it eventually ran out of battery and I plugged it in to charge. It's working normally again. Thanks though :)

Glad it's working again for you. :beerchug:

I'm looking forward to seeing what improvements come about in the next update and hopefully the accompanied update notes will be more understandable to read as well (take a look at the update notes for 1.0.5 to see what I mean).

I luv it, when it works its awesome... Think I'll be emailing Bruce soon, had it plugged in all day, and nothing, can hold the power button for minutes and nothing... Worked perfectly fine yesterday, took it off for dinner/evening...

This few days I've been using my QP1R to burn in some of my headphones and noticed that, upon finishing its battery, when I turn it on to check for sure its completely done for, it no longer displays the message "Battery too low, XXX", but instead just switch off immediately. Does this only happen when it's completely drained?

I did ... dSN problem using my work connection ... When I use my phone it switches to the 'mobile' website version where there is no option to get to the download page ... So I don't know if a new firmware version has been added yet

Nothing as of yet.

Not much of May left if they are going to release a new firmware update in late May.

It would be nice to have the FW update released to offset the negative experience with the scroll wheel falling apart, reported in the other QP1R thread.

Has your scroll wheel fell apart? I have heard nothing about this. I am sure they would replace it if it did. Bruce replaced my scroll wheel cover at Canlanta that fell off from CanJam and gave me an extra one. I don' find a need for a firmware update my self as the last one fixed all what I needed fixed I hardly use the scroll wheel when they made the buttons work in it's place. I know many want the 9999 song limit raised not a problem for me as of now. I have not heard a Dap that sounds as good for the money even at twice the price. I would like to be able to stream Tidal but I knew it would not do that going in maybe in Qp2 it would be awesome to hear this amp stream. The X7 doesn't come anywhere close to the sound of this little baby. That goes for most AK's also.

No, not my scroll wheel (sorry for the confusion) but it's happened to two users after a minor fall. So far, it seems that Questyle can't fix it. As for the needed FW update, hopefully it will address more than the 9999 file cap. It really depends on how you use your QP1R.

Yes ones minor fall is another ones ? They didn't replace the broken units? I think the 9999 limit should be fixed for me not a problem yet as I have 24 bit and DSD's and they take up a lot of space. I think they take all of these things seriously and I don't think they need to put out firmware updates out to fix a problem that is only effecting a few people. They have to look at a bigger picture. If they had to add everything that everyone wanted they would be too busy to come up with the next product . I have had this for less than a year got it just after release and 2 firmware updates in that time to fix user wanted problems and not function problems is not that bad. The scroll wheel sucked right off the bat but has gotten better. Just wanted to say that everyone should just take a breathe if you are waiting for a update. I have learned to do this in this hobby (yes it took time for me to do it). Still you have one of the best sounding DAP's out there so take that somewhat into account. Just my two cents.

Same boat as you.  Sounds beautiful, my files are too large to care about track limit and streaming would probably mean touchscreen.  And my wheel turns flawlessly, but the buttons are sufficient for me.
In my book readers, there are only arrow keys and an enter/where-am-I key.  If the wheel disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't miss it.
The only feature I'd get excited about, of course, is the folder play-through function, if it can be done.
