And i agree that people who think that the highs of the PS1000 are too bright for their taste, might want to try the 500 with G-Cush, one thing's for sure, the 500's treble is definately less extended, than the 1000.
 
I don't know about you, but i really think that Grado is on to something with this wood and metal combination, and at $600 retail, i think that the PS500 are priced right at that sweet spot where you still get a lot for your money.

Yep...as much as I LOVE my T1s, and as close as the GS1ks have come lately, if I had to pick just one headphone to keep it would still be my 500s.

Unfortunately, no grado ive heard would even come anywhere remotely close to being preferred over my T1, just no comparison imo

I have RS1 to test too.

T1 is okay. It just didn't blow me away like I wanted it to. There were times when I really enjoyed it but compared to some of the mid-Fi cans I've owned, I just didn't think it was any better considering the price.

I guess I'm very hard to please

In my opinion, when you're willing to spend that much money on headphones, you're entitle to be hard to please

After a few weeks with my PS1000's I have decided to part ways with them. To me I thought they weren't a huge improvement over the GS1000i's, so I decided to go back to the GS1000i's. I just love the weight of the GS1000i's and the sound they produced. I was able to sell the PS1000's for $1400 and I used that toward a new pair of GS1000i'ls and I was fortunate enough to get a Woo Audio WA-7 amp/dac from a guy online for $600!
 
I'm excited to test it out because I have heard great things about the WA-7 and I have never had a dedicated headphone amp, so I'm excited to hear the GS1000i's with them. 

Having said that, I am happy I gave the PS1000's a shot, but to me they were just too heavy and they didn't sound that much better compared to the GS1000i's. In the future I plan on getting a pair of PS500's and Audeze LC-2 headphones, but that is way down the road.

Agreed. Heard a T1 with a WA6 and thought it sounded technically good, and is the only Beyer that I liked at all, but would definitely choose my RS1i over it any day.

I ran T1 off some good amps --Graham Slee Solo ULDE, Violectric V200, Burson Conductor -- and they never quite did it for me. I say I'm hard to please but I think I like a fun signature and Grado have it in spades. I'm sad that I never heard T1 with a WA2 but I can't ever see them outperforming an LCD-2 on technicalities or being as fun to listen to as a Fostex or Grado. Price tag aside, they are, IMO, a middling headphone.

besides transparency and bass (and even then, its equal to me), i prefer the T1 to LCD-2. though they are pretty close. u have to listen to them off a WA2, if theres any amp/headphone combo i'd keep over everything else, its that.

I agree that the difference between the GS and PS1000 is not major, and if the Little Dot 1+ mates as well with the GS1000 and PS500 as it does with the PS1000, you could get both headphones and the amp, for not much more money than the cost of the PS1000 alone.

Hmm, to me, PS1000 and GS1000 are two differ headphones. Yes, you hear they are both Grado, but to say that the step from GS1000 to PS1000 is just not that big, I dont know, maybe you hear your amp more than headphones?
