Nice set up. What cable is that for the TF10's?

It's called "Purple Storm" I bought it from ebay, with the seller named sunricky.
I've been listening for the past 40 minutes or so, and the nano seems to be really lacking in comparison to my iPod classic :/ Kinda regretting purchasing the nano.. unless there is such thing as burning in an ipod?

well I certainly hope I'm wrong - it just sounds like a 'too good to be true' price, so suspicion is warranted.

I agree. I bough my IE80's for €199, which is already quite cheap. I highly doubt you'd be able to get new IE8's for £88. Sounds really fishy.

I suggest Paul'd take a really good look at the counterfeit IE8 thread.

Nice Tomahawk Feigeibomber!

How are you finding it compared to the E11.  I have a Tomahawk coming in today!  ..anxious....also going to be using a L9, do you find that the cable gets in the way of the volume control?

Thanks.

Thank you !

In terms of comparability, there is no comparison, that is in my opinion anyway
The bass on the tomahawk is definitely more controlled and tighter, where the TF10 is known for its V shaped frequency response with recessed mid's as some people say, the tomahawk really brings out the mid's, making it sound super awesome !
And currently with this tiny iPod, and the L9, No, it does not get in the way, i can easily twist the volume knob, but when i was using it with my iPod Classic and the L9 cable, i found myself having to push against the cable a little to make some room for my fingers to fit :)

That's what I thought your response would be.  I have an iPod Classic.  I think I may have to get another cable..

Thanks for your feedback!

You guy's should lose the L9's going for some Canare LOD's. L9's tend to muffle the sound and although they're convenient with their right angle plug It's not doing you any favours in SQ. They are pushing a weak link in your rigs. I am not associated with this ebay member in anyway, though using his LOD's made from Canare L-2T2S will show more than noticeable improvement.

I have the mini to mini interconnect version (I don't mean to keep posting this photo it's just for reference so you can get an idea of the thickness)

It's like lifting a blanket off your signal. You can find them on ebay searching for: 3.5 to black dock for ipod, iphone, headphone amp, black

No offence to Fiio. I love their amps but their cables are very average sounding.

Hi feigeibomber,  i dont know whether it helps to set the EQ to adjust the sound.      I have my EQ set to rock and it makes a difference when amped.   My nano and ipod classic sounds almost the same after i play with the EQ.   Hopes that help.

Haha, for some reason I've always felt that all those 7N/6N/5N silver cable LOD's out there only had a placebo effect? Unless i'm wrong.. ?

I can only guide you. ;) Did your TF10 cable from sunricky make a difference?

That may answer your question.

Thanks for the replies people :)

As for HD25 vs IE8......

Ild say HD25's have a more open, Wider soundstage?! ( Im new at all this so bare with lol ) Yet the IE8's are better isolated and I find the bass crisper/cleaner than the HD's. But not by much.

As for the IE8's being fakes...
I didnt realize they were that expensive usually :O My local Curries Superstore were selling them last month in a sale at £100 a set so I thought noothing of it when I saw these £18 cheaper online.

I think I'll check out that thread and see what I can find as I still have all the original packaging.

I will say initially, After watching and reading a good few reviews etc, Everything that should be there was there. And they sound just as great as my other Sennheiser cans ( If you look at my profile you'll see I have a thing for Sennheiser lol )
But still, I'll go take a look just in case :) Thanks for the heads up folks.
