Do you really "feel the need" of an extra amp with the HP-P1?
I have the same setup and i really can't see the point of an extra amp, but that's just me...

Is the iPod Touch capable of 24/96 HR files? How?

Not really but had the funds in PayPal and wanted to hear the tube amp. It is nice hearing the differences. Will post a more comparison later. The HP P1 is a much more professional piece of kit. The ALO looks DIY in comparison but does sound good with the right music, vocals.

iTunes will not transfer my 24/96 tracks to my iPhone 4s though it will play it fine on the computer.  I have to convert my 24/96 and 24/88 ALAC albums to MP3s in order to get them on my phone.  Naturally, 16/44 ALACs no issue.  Maybe there is some 3rd party software out there.  I recall back in 2010 the iPhone chips were not supporting 24/96 but I haven't read much about the DAC in the 4s.  Guess I got some reading to do............
