It's precisely the fact that we are seeing inside ... through the headphone jack ... that's the flaw

Okay then. I must admit I don't usually look into jacks so I can't say I know what is to be expected, but if from looking into the jack you all feel you can accurately tell there is a flaw in design I certainly can't say I know different. I do feel it still hard to believe that such a glaring issue would make it past quality control, but it is of course quite possible.

Guys i lost my SD-3's on the underground today :(
Im looking to get another pair of IEM's...Was thinking of the Shure SE846 or the StageDiver SD-4...Are there any other IEMS out there i should consider (must be able to convert to balanced)

I love the sound, and ive only just began listening balanced so that's adding to the fascination. I guess it depends on style of music which filter setting suits, the slow filter seems to push guitars forward, and the fast setting seems to bring the drums forward indeed making it seem like a faster tempo. Nice to have at a click and not a gimmick, they serve a purpose. Still need to spend some time listening to the ACG as I'm not sure whats its doing yet and if I like it!

Cool, I'm going to play around with the ACG tonight I hope, but I'm going to a night class and have to read for an early morning class so time might be limited. Sucks as I just want to explore the new toy. Cheers.

Now, damn does this thing sound good, I mean really, really good. Lots of detail, but with the slow filter on it doesn't seem at all harsh from this often purported Sabre glare. The layering and instrument separation is second to none. The sound is very fluid and full.
(...)
For now as often as I can, I intend to leave the headphones plugged in to minimize the stress on the jack.

My thoughts exactly after a few hour with it I am very impressed with the SQ, special mention to imaging too.
I like the tuning very much smooth and full as you said, less agressive than the Pioneer.

The socket issue is quite frustrating especially since the XDP-100 I had for a week did not exhibit any signs of similar issue.
Puzzling oversight...

So far I do like ACG better, it feels like the sound is even smoother.

Have you guys toyed with the Lock Range Adjust btw?

Guys for me this jack issue is a major issue. Mine is in order for the end of the month and now I'm thinking I should cancel. It's a real shame as otherwise this dap ticks all the boxes (well nearly all) :weary:

Sorry for my accent :D....here is the video. It feels much more secure to have the socket not moving anymore upon plug/unplug. This way the only thing the socket needs to deal with is only down/up force...not side to side forces. Better secure for better life. You can try and press on your 2.5 and see her dance...wonder why she breaks ?

Sigh, Onkyo isn't what it used to be. I'd noticed it with the latest home stereo amps, that the build quality isn't as good as it used to be, as I own an older and a recent amp. Quality control in China needs to be tightened up or they will loose customers.
