For those who want a sound very similar to Onkyo, without operating system problems and with the possibility of using Qobuz and Tidal, I recommend taking a look at the Hiby R3 PRO Saber. I don't know what the new versions are like, I have the old one and it's also really good as a transport for dongles. But obviously the charm of listening to a 10 year old dap that has accompanied you all this time... you can only have that with a real DP-X1.

Is there any reason to get this over an iBasso DX180? I've heard this still sounds very good in the modern market, but I don't know if its all-around functionality holds up as well.
Like @Coyley said. This DAP is nostalgia. No reason to pay money for it today. The DX180 is great. If you are using a USB C port, the DC Elite is another great option around that price point.

I run the rooted version of Android 5.1.1 on my DP-X1. I don't use Tidal, but I can listen to Spotify, Qobuz (in UAPP), SiriusXM, TuneIn Radio, and YouTube on my unit from 2016.

Ten years have passed and it is very sweet to read the first messages of this thread. How much will it cost? When will it come out? Will it be able to drive my headphones? Will it outperform the Astell&Kern AK380 that costs too much? All questions that have gradually found answers. The reviewers who guaranteed it could drive everything even unbalanced from the height of its 75mw X2 (LOL), to the fact that it was too heavy and bulky (LOL). Since then everything has changed... but nothing has changed. Where can I buy the case? Only in Japan? What are the best microsd? The certified 200gb ones or can I use something else? And then the first photos of the broken 2.5mm connectors... does it really break that easily? The Onkyo DP-X1 in the world of audiophilia was my first love and as such it is never forgotten. Mine is almost ten years old now, the 200gb microsd, its cover and even its very powerful 1650 mah battery that still lets me listen to two albums with 15% discharge. UAPP no longer works... I can only listen through its native app. Everything has changed but the DP-X1 is still the dap that I love the most... the first and unforgettable dap. Few things have not changed in these ten years... its magical sound that now passes through a PULA PA02, the emotions that arise from listening to it, and then the music that like the Onkyo still accompanies my days. Thank you DP-X1, thank you so much!!!

Has UAPP stopped working on your DPX1? My DPX1A, which is running on Android 5, is still streaming Qobuz through UAPP fine. Does it have anything to do with Google Play Store and Google Services? You could find the latest available and Android 5.0 compatible apk of Google Play Store and Google Services online.

I can't see Spotify playlist content. The green circle turns but the playlists don't open. It's getting harder for me to choose songs. But the Spotify home screen looks fine. What could be the reason? I deleted the spotify app and reinstalled it, turned the device off and on, but it doesn't show spotify playlist.

My Spotify stopped working completely just this month, but that's because I never kept it updated on my DP-X1. And I was warned ahead of time. But this wouldn't be the reason for your problem. Make sure you reinstalled the latest version of Spotify.

It's hard to understand why Onkyo would produce a product and then treat it like a stepchild.
