That looks like an amazing deal. Do you have your's set up with Rockbox by chance? Is it working well?
Replacing the battery certainly a great idea, but as you say, if you are gonna do the annoyance of opening it, I would certainly go for an ssd card, or iflash, ssd card from aliexpress much better, it's smaller, cheaper overall, an comes with a free truly large battery. Also, with flash storage, battery use is smaller. so you will get nokia battery, 30 hours of use, also free rear cover, so it will look neat.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000778209756.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dTJ4rQi

from 50$ the whole kit shipped. that's where i bought mine, only complaint is that the rear case was not laser etched, the one i received, but i got refunded and ordered another one for 8$ shipped.

I've read comments on alieexpress about ppl complaining that the the battery is pushing the lcd screen (which may result in cracking it).
Did anyone tried that kit and can share his opinion?

Sheesh, I hate it when the clocks go back or forward, and thanks to the weird way windows filesystems seem to work it means the database update on the simulator thinks every single track has changed and I have to rebuild the entire database rather than update.

As it's unlikely either microsoft or rockbox will change anything, I'm just going to hope the EU and Canadian suggestions of scrapping daylight-saving-time altogether come to fruition. It's a stupid system anyway.

Hi, little info: I had to replace the display in Ipod classic 160gb and the connector for the flat cable on the pcb broke, it is impossible for me to find the replacement of the connector; am I forced to replace the whole motherboard?

Hi all, I have a question to ask and using the search function I could not find what I would like to know but if it has already been indicated in the past I apologize for the request but 683 pages is too much to read.

I have an ipod classic 160 Gb and I can't understand which generation it is because the dislay is dark, can these useful are data be used on the chrome back to go back to the generation? A1238 with final numbers of the serial 9ZS.
Also who would be kind enough to point to me in summary how many gb maximum can be expanded with the Tarkan Iflash upgrading on the different Classic ipod products of the 6th - 7th generation from 80 120 160 Gb?

Thank you very much.

It's a 7th gen ipod 160gb. Can be comfortably expanded up to 2tb using 4 x 500gb cards. However i believe some have gone higher. This is an insane amount of music (even at lossless) so should be enough for most people.

All "Classics" were designated A1238.

You will need to find the actual model number.

Enter your serial number here :
https://checkcoverage.apple.com/gb/en/

Or here :
https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/

A 6th gen iPod Classic (model numbers MB029, MB147, MB145 and MB150) can only handle 128GB even if you put a larger capacity SDXC in the iFlash. Even the 6th gen 160GB models cannot use more than 128GB.
A 7th gen 120GB (MB562 and MB565) can also only handle 128GB.
A 7th gen 160gb (MC293 and MC297) can handle anything! Well, almost.

Flashing the firmware to Rockbox overcomes the 128GB limitation if you can put up with Rockbox.

@ Glendo90
@zedhed

many thanks for your quick and comprehensive answers; is there a way to like or give feedback on your answers?
Oops...It is not necessary ... I just found out.

If I don't want to use rockbox, am I forced to upgrade to 128 gb max of update?
