I don't think there is.  Even the PATA 240gb drive seems to be scarce now (I wanted a second one, but they now cost too much!).

I think with the logic board you have Rockbox is the only way to use a bigger drive.  Rockbox does seem to work though, even if its officially "not available" for the classic.

Unfortunately I don't think rockbox is an option.  My primary use for this ipod is in my car which has a usb input.  The car needs to recognize it as an ipod.

I am trying to build a Compact Flash iPod I have this A-Data 128GB Micro Sd Card.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adata-128GB-micro-SD-/141489433491?pt=US_Cellphone_Memory_Cards&hash=item20f16d6b93

Can anyone confirm if this Micro SD Card can be adapted up to the Tarkan ver.3 Adapter

http://www.tarkan.info/store

Ordered this SD>ZIF board and the connector didn't seem right slot is to large for ribbon also was not compatible with newer UHS-1 cards

I chose this one because it was fairly thin because I just received the 2000mAh battery with thick case

Has anyone ever used this board I can't get it to work maybe need a different connector?

Good call, though taking the cover off again is tedious business. Also, I'm not sure if it'll make a difference. I might have completely broken the SSD, or corrupted parts of it.

So I read you went with an 850 mAh battery? Why not wait a bit longer for the 2000 one?

No idea if you have solved this yet but this may be helpful:-

If CORRUPTION has occurred - it will appear like the drive has failed.  You will keep getting the red cross screen or sad ipod screen

Sometimes going in to ipod diagnostics and reading the HD specs may bring the device back.

If not the only fix for this is to remove the msata drive from the ipod, install in to an external msata - sata enclosure.

First try running something like AOMEI then leave it connevted for at least 1 hour this will allow the drive to do housekeeping functions.

Shutdown computer before removing msata drive then reinstall in to ipod.

If this does not work - repeat above but use aomei to delete all partitions and reformat to fat32 and rebuild MBR.

The above was on the reverse of the A4 sheet of paper with the adapter from tarkan.

The SD to ZIF adapter will not work, the type of connection is different even though looks close to the one the iPod have.

I would run H2testw 1.4 ASAP to check the real capacity of that card, at that price it might be fake. (most likely it is)

I know nothing about in-car systems, sorry.  A Rockboxed ipod does still identify itself as an ipod when connected to a computer, but obviously it doesn't have Apple's firmware any more, so I have no idea if that would be enough for your in car-system to work.
You probably need to get a 5.5gen or slim 160gb logic board at least (perhaps you could get a functional one in an otherwise broken ipod).

Hey, does anyone know of a UK source for 2000mAh batteries (for use with SSD ipod mods)?  Am starting to think about trying a 512gb SSD pod, but seems that really needs a better battery to be worthwhile.

I see some on Ebay but they have a different connector to the ipod ribbon style, and the only ones I've seen with the right connector are in the US.  Or is there a simple way to change the connector cable?

Thanks (it might already be in this thread somewhere, but search didn't find it!)

Edit - never mind, found one!

I'm still getting used to rockbox and I would like to find a solution to synchronise my music on iTunes with my iPod. Do you guys know anything good? In order of preference I would like to find a tool for OS X, debian based Linux or Windows.

Our Audi has a third party interface for the 30 pin ipod. It sees standard firmware and also rockbox sources just fine. This is with a 5.5g unit.

Keep in mind that the Audi is just treating the audio as a line level input and uses the ipod as the dac

I just added Rockbox to my ipod video.  It started fine, but now gives me the Rockbox logo and says committing database 1-9.  It seem to be trying to restart, shuts off, then back on.  Any ideas?
Edit: Low battery.  Building database now

HI guys, I'm looking at making a larger iPod classic using a 5th gen 30gb iPod. Not really sure how to go about but have read up a fair bit.
If I was to use an mSATA drive I would require tarkens iflash adaptor right?
If anyone knows could post a link to a youtube video so I can see how this done? Thank you.
Much appreciated
Also what is 'Rockbox' exactly? Why do you guys use it?
