I did test Headphone ATH-ES7 and found that they have very good frequency response. Many sites lie about these graphs. Here's a sample chart that I drew in paint.
If the correct amplitude-frequency response with the equalizer the quality and transparency of sound can be substantially improved.
I do it with Foobar2000 + VST Aixcoustic Electri-Q when I listen to music from your computer. Or using a parametric equalizer, built-in firmware Rockbox.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I'm loving my ES7's. I did the headband mod and it's worked out well. I haven't done the other mods yet, I will when I get motivated

I'm sure I can do it, but I still get nervous until I'm actually doing them

I was looking at the Senn pads for the ES7's. Do they just slip on or is there certain steps you have to take? Do they really make them easier to wear for longer periods of time? I'm hoping so, being that I do a fair amount of traveling they come in handy during flights.

Since I had it custom made and mentioned the ES7 explicitly, even giving them various pictures, I'm sure anyone here can mention the ES7 and get the skin for $5.99 + Shipping.

I think now I can't really recommend putting this skin on the ES7 anymore. Even though the application was good, it does eventually come off. I suppose the best thing to do is be careful with the finish as is reasonably possible.

Hm. I've had self-cut circles of BSE material on my ES7s for at least a year, and they show zero signs of peeling off. I wonder: Do the BSEs that were custom-made for your ES7s extend onto the beveled part of the ES7's cups? I could see that being a potential weak point. I cut mine to be ever-so-slightly smaller than the cups -- so it remains completely flat -- and I've had no problems so far. I can post my template if anyone's interested. Oh, I also used Windex rather than the soapy water BSE recommends, for whatever that's worth.

How the headphones are treated is probably a factor too; I tend to be gentle with mine and keep them in an AT-HPP5 case when not in use. How rough were you with your BSE-protected ES7s, Aslan123?

Well, mine went right up right to the bevel but not over, perhaps this is a problem as dirt and dust did get attracted to the edge. Making the skin as you did would solve this problem.

I do use ES7 fairly gently and I generally use them at work only. Although I don't have a case, I keep it in the felt bag and then another bag on top of that, then stick it in my backpack when travelling.
I've never thrown them around or anything like that, but I do live in a humid area, and maybe my application was slightly flawed as well.

It isn't too big a loss though. BSE were nice enough to give me an extra set of skins when I ordered so I'll give it another shot later on.

Hey, I'm new here and just got a quick question.
Are these only available online on the Apple Store, or in actual Apple Stores in the US?
Specifically, the ones in Vegas. :3

No, I meant if they're available in actual Apple Stores.

Mine arrives later today. Can't wait!

Edit: Must have come as I typed that...

I can already tell that I'm going to like these things! They have a real nice beat to them on everything I've listened to so far. They do sound a little muddy low down right now, but that should clear up after a bit of burn-in.

The only problem at the moment is that these things are hellishly uncomfortable. The headband is fine, but I find the earcups hard and badly sized for my ears. It's a real pity, if they were 1/4 of an inch larger they would fit perfectly as circamurals. Hopefully after some head time, the pads will soften up and the headband will lose some tension. If not, I'll have to go in search of some bigger pads.

Still, they sound great, I can't wait for them to burn in!

I was wondering if anyone knows an easy (and hopefully cheap) method of buying these in Canada.

Most of the sites listed seem to only ship to US addresses.

I've found one amazon retailler that ships to Canada, but headphones cost 90 + shipping $30 comes to $120 total.

I'm pretty willing to go for it right now, but I just wanted to double check in case any of you know how I can save a little bit of cash.

Thanks in advance =)
