I think I've successfully derailed the thread.

I just took a look at the Amazon gold box forum (yes, that's a thing), and I'm pretty sure they've derailed the entire forum there. There are no discussions about Amazon deals at all.  >.<

Unfortunately, I don't have any 'high-end' headphones, but people do seem to get surprised by my HD598's... lol

People are already surprised enough when I tell them the price of my DT1350s. They look at it, do a double take and snicker, or at the very least give it the stare. This is why my Stax rig is my best kept secret.

This reminds me of when one of my friends was like "Who would spend $2000 on a gaming pc?".

I would spend money on what gave me enjoyment.

My Girlfriends reaction to my Beyerdynamics almost broke my heart...

She ripped them off after a few seconds listeining to some FLAC file and was like "These things are broken! There's different sound coming out from each side". With a dead serious look in her eyes. Didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry :D

Though now whenever she likes a song on the radio I let her listen to it on my Headphones and she's blown away every time :)

I don't know if that reaction is a good thing or a bad thing...

It's a bad thing.  The sound is different coming from both sides?  Impossible!  They must be broken.
