To anyone who owns the Noble Fokus Apollo, is the 3.5mm AUX mode really that bad? I've tried several DACs (Qudelix T71, iBasso Nunchaku, E1DA 9038D, Hiby R4 EVA and Hugo 2) at different gain levels, but when I crank it up to loud levels (around 90), I get distortion that makes it almost unlistenable, this also happen to my Stax Spirit S5 which is a BT headphone, but my other headphones and IEMS have no issues. My issue is that the Bluetooth mode works fine for casual listening, but I want it louder, and the 3.5mm mode seems to cause the sound to distort.

Is the Apollo turned on or in off when using the 3.5mm cable?

Hi there, i tried both actually
Right now turned off.
In off mode, the Apollo is being driven passively, using the external amp source.
Apollo On + 3.5 = signal running through the dac. If the source is clipping, they will not sound good.
I would not recommend trying to push the Apollo at high levels under passive wired conditions as one can blow the drivers. (That isn't a good thing)

So, are you suggesting running it passively while it’s off?In off mode, the Apollo is being driven passively, using the external amp source.

Also, another question, does the Apollo function as a true balanced headphone when using the 4.4mm adapter?
thanks

Each pair has their own DAP that suits their sound signature best. My journey has been wonderful so far.

Is the bore size / nozzle size going into the ear for Noble Spartacus and Noble Fokus Prestige the same?
I'm curious to know what eartips you put on?Each pair has their own DAP that suits their sound signature best. My journey has been wonderful so far.

From left: Spinfit W1 on Noble 6, Spinfit CP500 on Savanna and some s**tty stock eartips from a fake LG Quadbeat 3 AKG for Katana (I put them on quickly for a taking picture though). Usually I use Pentaconn CoreIR brass on Katana when I hook them up with Cowon Plenue 2 to brighten the thick and mellow sound from Cowon, but since I've switched to SP2000SS, I find it better to pair up Ortofon with Katana.I'm curious to know what eartips you put on?
