I think it's a great development. Noble for the many not just the few. Won't detract at all from their high end status. That is assured.

Hello,
Long time since I've posted something here. I'm going to purchase a set of k10 encore but I'm still hesitating on the design. If someone could post a photo of one pair with clear shells, that would give me a good idea of what they'd look like. I heard their clear shell design is quite stunning too. Thanks to all in advance. Cheers.
My K10's in light smoke. I've been really happy with them. I sometimes wish I had gone for one of Johns amazing artwork designs but I use them a lot on public transport. Understated is the way forward. Only I know how amazing they are.

Thanks. A lot. They look great. I’m gonna take them clear with pure copper glitter. If anyone got a picture of these …
Cheers.

Hi all, how do you guys think about the noble katana, when I first listen to it, I feel really good.
But why I seldom see people talking about it?
I demoed the Katana and Encore a few weeks ago at the Indulgence Show in London and I think that generally speaking most people will prefer the Encore because it is a more fun and energetic signature. The Katana felt flatter (although still musical) and I think most people will prefer a stronger bass presence.

I would still like a longer time with the Katana because my impression of them was that they were a little boring, but I think their qualities will come through better under different conditions (ie. not a noisy show) and with a bit more time. I did listen to a few warmer IEMs (Encore, UE18+) before and after the Katana, so that will have had an influence on how they appeared.

It's very hard to get a really good impression of an iem at a show. I think it would be easy to miss a lot of what Katana offers under show conditions. The Katana, compared with the original K10, for me, has a bit better separation between individual instruments and pulls out subtle "buried in the mix" details that I normally miss. Things overall feel more focused. The Katanas are not as warm and not as bassy. I haven't tried the Encore...yet. I've owned a K10 ciem for years now, have a K10 universal, and bought the Katana earlier this year. For overall clarity, I prefer the Katana, but the K10 is more fun.

FWIW. I've heard the Katana and Encore. I own the K10. I would take the Encore as being the best of all worlds. The Katana is probably more accurate. The Encore and K10 more engaging. The Encore has the detail and separation of the Katana with the energy and warmth of the K10. I can see that if you were engineering the Katana would be the best tool for the job.

Sorry, I have been away for a while, so I have missed some posts.

As to why isn't the Katana spoken about much here.

The Katana doesn't have the direct link/heritage as the Kaiser Encore has with the K10. Considering a large portion of customers are probably ordering based off of reviews etc they probably purchase the Kaiser Encore due to the heritage over the Katana.

I also like the Katana as well, it ticks off a lot of boxes, size, sound, build quality, weight etc.

Further more, the Katana recently received earphone of the year award in Japan, but I would guess most of the Japanese owners of the Katana do not post on head fi.

(those are my two cents)

My experience at the shows I have attended, it seemed to be a 50/50 response. In fact we sold at the show the same number of Kaiser Encores, as we did the Katana
