Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Not being an expert like yourself, just wondering does the
(1) silver wire change the sound signature at all?
(2) Are there any other benefits (impedance or whatever)?
(3) Or it's just a prestige thing?
(4) And (if such info isn't confidential) then what wire do you normally use? Copper? 24 Carat gold? :D

Great questions

(1) We are not going to make any claims in regards to
A) sound signature
B) a benefit in impedance (or sound)
C) Prestige thing? Our stance is we are simply meeting a "demand." Some folks desire silver, for what ever their reasons are, and I'm not here to debate those reasons, negate or affirm those reasons. Simply put, our supplier has developed pure silver solder wire, and we can implement the wire in our designs.

(4) Depending on the product, we use copper and a combination of copper and gold in the internals. I don't make any sonic claims as to why we use copper and gold, and discussing as to why I use those materials may be giving up more information than I care to share.

Hehe, I was just curious. Thanks for the answers. 'Meeting demand' is as good a reason as any.

Man, a lot's changed on the website since I picked up the N5W's a few years ago. Glad to see you guys seem to be crushing it!

Just moved up in the world and looking at something nice so I can go into full turtle mode in my cubicle - any opinions on what would be a worthy successor? I remember when I bought these I was warned that they were far from neutral and I'd have to agree, but these are still the most fun thing to listen to that I own. Everything was conveniently numbered N3 through K10 the last time I went shopping for IEMs... think the Kaiser is still the best bet for an upgrade that's still just a little bit colorful?

If its in the budget, get the Encore for the fun factor, or the Katana for neutral with insane clarity.

Didnt want to turn this page into more 'help me decide what to buy' spam now. Have been in the market for an upgrade to the N5 for rock/metal; the open-back cans would probably upset a whole lot of people at work. Odds are I'll dump off an order for an Encore sometime around this weekend - just looking for something fun and not absolutely flat, hence the previous N5 purchase.

The Encore is the same fun the K10 is/was, just with improved clarity, detail, etc.

Actually, that is pretty much what this thread is about

A) it is a meeting place for Noble owners
B) meeting place for prospective owners

As a community we answer questions about purchasing Noble products, procedures, process etc etc. From time to time, Brannan or I also answer questions.

So feel free to ask what you want in regards to your up and coming purchase and remember;
