Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

  2 questions.

1. Will the universal K10 sound inferior to its custom?
2. Is there an option to re-terminate the cable to a jack/plug of my choice (2.5mm TRRS)?

Thanks.

1. No, the two are identical internally.
2. We do not provide this service, however our cables are very easy to re-terminate either by yourself or a third-party.

1) in theory "no" as there are some folks that feel that CIEMs offer a superior sound.... But we are not here to support that claim or refute that claim either. I personally use the k10 universal rather than the Prestige K10. Brannan on the other hand uses a Prestige

2). We have had a lot of customers convert their cables into balanced cables etc etc. if you would like an extra cable u can order the. On our website, and you could then switch cables according to your players needs

  Hi,

Which version of the Prestige (i.e. which type of wood) is used in the adverts in this thread. I believe it is also the same one in the picture with the speakers.

Thanks

Philip

The wood used in the photos is Amboyna Burl paired with a light translucent purple acrylic. Incidentally, only the white/cream portion of the burl was captured in these pieces and no red, which is actually the dominant color of the wood.

Since the wood is the most expensive part, can I just send you some wood and you make mine for free? I feel this is more than fair, for ME

Awesome review alert: http://www.head-fi.org/products/noble-audio-kaiser-10/reviews/11693

It's a really fun read and confirms all that we've been reading / hearing, but I never stop enjoying the confirmation that I've chosen the best IEM on the market (for my tastes and purposes).

I'm very proud of myself for not marking the days off the calendar in anticipation of receiving my K10s. I think it's been about 4-4.5 weeks since my impressions arrived at the lab, but actually don't know for sure and that's progress compared to my UM Miracle order where I sat quietly in turmoil each day that they didn't arrive (even before the lab had my impressions if I recall correctly)

Best review I've ever read.

I'm in the same boat with the K10s, albeit much earlier in the journey. Ordered them through a local audiologist (with some large markup but well worth the advice/expertise he offers me imo) and my impressions have been sent. Doing my best not to think about the finised product XD.

Could you please post more photos of the upcoming K10U? Would be great if we could have different design options like the standard K10, considering the same price...

Photos are very difficult to provide.

The K10 is hand finished, a very fine glitter is applied (make up grade), lacquer is applied, and the "Wizard" signature is etched on the shell.

Taking photos of the glitter finish has proven to be very difficult.  The better pictures have been taken/provided by Darin, and those are used on the website etc etc.

I really want the K10 universals although I have never had a CIEM before and always wanted one.  Either way I will get a set someday.  Anyone want to buy a house in vegas so I can justify spending part of my commission on them?

Sir, I went around myself for half a year. No good arguments can justify this purchase. Other than we only live once.. Do it !

I have justified it to myself (and my wife) by saying that it allows me to drown out distractions comfortably without killing my hearing.  I'm a software developer and it's key that I be able to tune out the rest of the world while I think over problems and write code.  Plus, the neighbors have a new baby that cries a lot, so it helps me feel sane (although I'm sure the wife won't appreciate that excuse when we have our own kids...).
