  FullCircle,

Have a general question regarding the tuning process.  Do you guys check to see if it's tuned to a specific FR?  How do you guys tune the FR?  If one were to redo a custom from another lab, how would that affect the tune?  Would they not be able to retune to the original FR?

General answers:

1)  Do you guys check to see if it's tuned to a specific FR?

ANSW: That should be SOP I would think across all mfg.

2)  How do you guys tune the FR?

   ANSW: Short answer, "carefully"

 Longer answer

Originally when I started doing this as a hobby, I didn't have testing equipment available. I just listened, if I liked it, I liked it.....

Latter on, after getting test equipment, the procedure would be a design goal, build it, listen to it....  see if I reached that goal, and then double check and see if I reached that goal via testing equipment. I imagine most IEM/Headphone companies use this approach as well.

3) If one were to redo a custom from another lab, how would that affect the tune?

Noble does not do reshell work.

4)  Would they not be able to retune to the original FR?

Noble does not do reshell work.

If you want a Noble product, that pleases a 2 CC couplers (first and foremost) then that would be the Noble PR, and then a toss up between the Noble FR and Noble 4

Or any Noble CIEM with the Reference Option.

I'm rather prejudiced against shamelessly-exhorbitant mark-ups in the aftermarket cable racket. I see the validity in upgrading to one, or maybe two, steps up from bog-standard, but any further than that, and I feel the ratio between diminishing returns and price-gouging spirals rapidly out of control and in the wrong direction.

AFAIK, Rob Watts doesn't think much of expensive cables, and, sat here listening to his Hugo, I'm inclined to think he knows a thing or two about how to achieve excellent SQ. This thing really sings.

Many thanks to OK-Guy for facilitating my musical enjoyment this evening, and to Chord for sharing some love with a few lucky peop's here!

I'd love to hear the Hugo again, some time in the future, in concert with the K10s, as I enjoyed my brief listening session with this combo at the Bristol Hi-fi show, a few months ago. I recall some sweet treble detail there...

Received my K10s today and immediately put them through a pace run.

The song was http://morkmusic.bandcamp.com/track/5-9-sabb

At the start is a tough piece of fast, synthetic, bass.  A lot of headphones can't get it right, and the K10s took it in stride.

Great fit noble crew!  These are some comfortable pieces of art :)

Any pictures?
I am waiting for my K10's, only 5 more weeks.

Have fun, congrats!
