I've got a buddy who's got a pair of M3s so I went and listened to them again last night. The first time I A/B'd them again my oBravo Cupids and promptly sold the CupidsThe dynamic range of the M3, I would say.
Last night I took them against my Xelentos and honestly I think it was a tough call. I didnt have enough time to go deep with them but my impression was that they're similar in the bass department, maybe a little deeper and crisper & more prominent in the high frequencies with perhaps a little less warmth than the Xelentos - That's an oversimplification - but my that's my quick impression after going back and forth on a few tracks. The M3s definitely sound great and if I didn't have a 2nd set, I suppose I wouldn't be playing so many mind & ear tricks. It's called the power of suggestion for a reason, and having read the comments about the "deep v" lacking mids, I suppose went looking for evidence of that; I must have missed it - you know, professional reviewers have said so, so they must be right, right? Well maybe not. We all hear differently, we all have different preferences - and from last night's short demo, the M3s do sound great with a wide dynamic range.
I will say that the Xelentos seemed to be a bit fuller up the middle, where the M3s are more detailed to the outsides. I get mine on Friday and will have plenty of time to really dig into them with some good long listening time. My discovery of the M3 really began by accident, I didnt know they existed when I found them, and upon the first listen, was instantly attracted to them, so that says something. And like I said, they (to me) blew away the Cupids at least in detail and resolution.
I will also say, they are among the most comfortable universals I've had in my ears. To date, with with the Tin P1s, Cupids, various Shure's, IE800s, Xelento, I have never had an issue with fit. Every universal I have tried, fits fine, but the contours and size of the M3s just hug my ears with no edges or contours that feel remotely out of place. And from an Isolation perspective, theey are probably the most isolating universals I have experienced with the only exception being the SE535s, with Comply Pro Foam Tips. They will be outstanding for long listening sessions.

With the M3, it took me a while to tip-roll to find the right tips for my ears. First off, JVC Spiral Dot++ is a no go due to its tendency to easily come off when removing the IEMs. I eventually settled for the Acoustune tips: double-flanged AET06 and finally AET07, both are pretty good but I like the AET07 a little better due to its comfort.
By the way, will there be new Savant II stock for the BF sale?

Yes, I see lot 2 on the website. Just wondering if there’s another lot coming. Either way, I’ll probably pick up a Savant during the sale

Interesting. That's not how I would have worded it, but thinking back to the 2 hours or so I had with them at Canjam, I would agree.
They're on the list for a eventual (personal) purchase - I am a sucker for cool tech in monitors and the M3 just happens to have the most innovative of our line to date (my personal opinion! Everyone on our team has their own) and I can't think of another monitor that matches the M3's unique sound signature.
It's great for so many things, especially acoustic and edm, but not only that. The near custom fit is just icing on the cake.
Can you tell I like the M3?

It goes back to how hard it is to describe M3's sound signature for me. I personally don't think it's lacking in treble, mids, or bass and I don't think simply categorizing it as another V-shaped IEM accurately describes its sound. The more I hear it, the more I notice it's the dynamics of the sound signature that's different from most BA/DD/hybrid IEMs I've heard.
K10u are out for delivery!!! This is gonna be a fun day, and I have all my tips ready for some rolling. I don't know if I have ever been this excited about a pair of iems, but I can't wait to hear them.

Acoustic and edm, yes please.Interesting. That's not how I would have worded it, but thinking back to the 2 hours or so I had with them at Canjam, I would agree.

Oh heck yes! The K10U are in my ears, and I am in heaven! The tonality is lifelike, the bass is killer, and the mids are perfect.

Glad you're enjoying them!
Just snagged up the Khan from Stereo Electronics here in Singapore. They were running a promotion (20+%) discount on Noble IEMs, something I simply couldn't resist. I was wondering whether I should go for the Kaiser Encore or the Khan, but after auditioning them both today, I didn't hesitate long and decided to go for the Khans (especially because they were being offered at the price tag of the Kaiser Encore!).
I'm coming from a K10 and the difference was too small to justify the Kaiser Encore. I remember hearing the Khans at Canjam Singapore last year, and prefering the Kaiser Encore over the Khans, probably being accustomed to the K10 for so many years. Having had the chance to properly audition them in a more quiet environment, I'd take the Khan any day over the Encore.
Was slightly confused though by the marketing of the Khans as decending from the lineage of the K10. While that is definitely true for the Kaiser Encore, the Khans sound, in my opinion, quite different from the K10 .
