Haven’t heard much about sound/build quality compromises with the Massdrop version.

One thing with the universal version is that edge wear is pretty common (maybe even inevitable), but that’s the same across Noble UIEMs.

There is edge wear, and then there is edge wear

I dont fret much as my G Shock has served me well.

Some people are more bothered by it than others - so it’s good for @Erfan Elahi to know beforehand.

@Rowethren but silver IEMs scratch too (Rhapsodio Eden, Hyla Nerva X, etc.) @FullCircle should find some vibranium to work with :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For me the best equipment Khan with Cayin N8 for home. Portable I prefer Sony A45 and ZX300.

This one's probably not a big deal, but Khan apparently has issues with the iFi xDSD, if anyone is planning on using that combination. (Weirdly, it's only when the xDSD is connected via Bluetooth, and there aren't any problems when using a wired connection.)

Hate to keep being the bringer of bad news(?), since the Khan, compatibility issues aside, is a very impressive IEM.

What problem are you having with the xDSD? Noise issue?

My Noble Khan sounds AMAZING out of the iFi xCan via Bluetooth with pitch black background, so it is strange that you faced problem with the xDSD as I think the internal Bluetooth component for both devices is similar.

Not me personally, but someone else in Korea (and was then confirmed by an employee from the store that has Noble IEMs). And yep, it's a noise issue.

I'm also surprised that it came up, because I didn't have issues with my wired (Nano iDSD BL) or wireless (ES100) sources. I thought it was purely a smartphone thing.

How much difference you feel between your N8 and ZX300 with Khan?

Cayin N8 in tube mode have better timbre on vocals and mids, sparkly highs, and bass have faster than ZX300. But for me N8 is too big and too weight for portable use, because not to carry in my back pocket.

John, if you can make customs for this guy, you can make them for anyone.
