Does the aluminium version sound much better than the original customs? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

the chassis may affect the projection of the sound but the only difference between customs and universals is better isolation

I use jh audio billet aluminum case for my k10 CIEM with dhc symbiote fusion cable. 1010 gets bit cramped with that combo

Having had both. A 1010 Peli is bigger than the JH puck.

The JH case gets annoying quick.  The aluminum hard case I got from Toxic Cable is much better.  I am still looking it up to see who else has it.

NP.  BTW, with the foam it maybe a little tight, so just remove them or use something a bit thinner.
