Hi all,
Have been lurking for some time, and learnt a great deal already. Thanks.

Have fallen head first down the audio rabbit hole thanks to iFi, Tidal, and JRiver, and am hoping for some advice regarding further upgrades.

Greetings!

Just a new member introducing myself. I won't pretend like I fit in, I'm so out of my depth on knowledge here. But it seems like a delightful site so I thought I'd join.

I'm a big prog rock fan, and Steven Wilson is my favorite musician. Hope to listen to a lot of good music with awesome gear in the future!

Another recent arrival on the forums by virtue of looing to start a new era of Head-Fi with the Sony NW-A306.

I had the original Walkman on release and brought it back from America to the UK where it had not yet been released which created a lot of interest, even from the police!
That was followed by recording Walkmans, Mini Disc players and even Discmans. :)

All that seems a very long time ago now, so this new journey is indeed an interesting learning curve, but loving this friendly and helpful forum even if a lot of it is way above my intellect!

I'm very envious of some of the devices and in-ears I've seen, but also astonished at the prices of some. :astonished:

One question I have.
In this day of declining physical shops, just how are users deciding what are the best set(s) of headphones / or in-ears to suit their own hearing tastes?
Are users, buying, trying and returning to Amazon etc etc or are there still some specialist stores about?

Curious to know?!
Thank you.

Hi, my name is Tommy Lim, currently at 19 years age. Have some experience with audio stuff but I'm not too expert in it since I didn't get the chance to try expensive things, I have more experience in cheaper things. I recently just started to like writing reviews and interested in writing an article for audio gears. If I ever get any new stuff I will find my time to write an article or review for it. I just got my Letshuoer Galileo so a review of that IEM is coming soon.

Hi, I'm Mark and my IEM addiction began with FPS gaming. Yes, I'm in my mid-40s and I still game. I tried to find the best gaming headset in the last couple years which eventually led me to IEMs. After trying IEMs I have no desire to go back to over the ear headphones. I made a quick leap from the Fiio FH3 to 64 Audio U12T, thinking I would be done. Unfortunately I found that I still need/want more lol. I am currently looking for an upgrade IEM to the U12Ts that has more energy and bass. Currently considering the Empire Ears Odin IEMs.

Hi,

This is Luke, from Italy.

Hi-fi lover since I was 13, I could only purchase my first decent gear ten year later... And this was in 1988.
It was basically a Yamaha AS400 amp, a Philips 471 CD player, a Thorens TD 156 MkII with a couple of ESB 3 way loudspeakers.
That equipment plaid for me for more than 30 years, and probably it could still be playng if during the Covid's lockdown I started again to search for something new to listen.
So, while the German turntable is still there, a new amp and a cd-dac from Audiolab took the place of the rest and a couple of B&W speakers substituted the ESB.

Needless to say, the new gears made me listen more and more music, and when my wife started complaining, I rediscovered the head-fi world. Dacs, amps and cans started to crowd my desk and God only knows where all of this will bring me.

I’m currently listening my music (every kind of music) from my Mac, my Samsung, my Ipad, via an FX Dac D8 or a Shanling EM5, to my Sundara, or to my Monolith M1060C or, even, to my Moondrop Aria.

During the last couple of years, I visited this forum every now and then and I got a lot of useful info.
Thanks for all the interesting news you share on line.
So I finally thought it was time to stop lurking and to begin to contribute.

Thank you for admitting me (and forgive my bad English).

Luke

Hello guys, my name is Alex and I'm a newcomer here in the forum!

I love listen to music "on the way"! My current "mobile set up" is the HiBy R3 Pro Saber 2022 portable music player coupled with Focal Sphear (wired) and SoundPeats Q30 HD (bluetooth) in-ear headphones, and Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless over-ear headphones.

I'm sure I will find good guidances and suggestions in the forum, hoping to be able to provide the same to the community!

Have a great day to all!
